Worth your hard earned dollars!
Extremely strong tape. Extended my motorized bicycle with this along with some exhaust sealent. The sealent alone didn't do much, it leaked about as bad as before I tried to seal it. Then, I used this tape, per instructions overlapping half the width, and stretching to about 2x the size of itself, and it has worked wonderfully. Looks amazing, and it doesn't seem like it will lose its grip anytime soon.Don't judge this product on my specific application, I was just trying to piece a functional exhaust together, not stylish. However, this tape somehow has made my clunky halfcocked idea, into a beautiful reality with absolutely no leaks where it was used. Overall a superb quality product and I will definitely buy more to keep on hand, because it can be used to fix just about anything you can manage to wrap it around!

great product
hello, this tape is outstanding for working as a self fusing material. it is wrapped in a separate clear plastic film to keep the tape from "fusing" together. for wrapping the ends of rope, it can wrap onto itself to create a tight bond. around metal tubing for a gasket to keep thing from scratching the finish, it works great. it is not for large permanent holes or leaks in pressure hoses, e.g. washer, car radiator, heater, etc. it works well as a temporary stop for small leaks. this product is very handy for all kinds of tape use. in some cases, much better than the standard electrical tape for common repairs. it does not stick directly to a surface like the electrical tape, but it fuses to the surface of itself when wrapped around something. it is a short roll, but it works well and lasts for many different jobs. to be color coordinated, you can get black, red and clear. we wrapped a pair of crutches with this clear wrap to keep the crutches from sliding away from any cabinet or counter top when at rest. a great product for many uses.

DOES NOT ADHERE TO ITSELF AS PROMISED
This tape did not stick to itself when I used as directed. IN FACT, it did NOT stick to itself "even when wet or dirty" as the ad claims. My application was on a hairline split 1/4" long and 1/16-/1/8 wide on a galvanized water pipe (water was turned off) in a tricky spot hard to wrap around, but still... bottom line is the tape did not work as advertised. ALSO, when I opened the package and rolled the tape out it had a gritty almost dust-like texture on it. Perhaps that caused the adhesion problem. Regardless, it was a waste of money and I can't return because I used it all simply trying to make an emergency repair in a tiny hairline split. I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN.

Red 2" is Red 1"
Just letting people know there seems to be some sort of issue, both the pulldown menus and technical details section for the Red 2" will say you are getting a 2", but in the product description it says you are getting a 1" tape; I've sent a message to Amazon for clarification, as I was sent the Red 1", but in the meantime I figured I'd let people know not to order the Red 2".I will also update this review with an actual product review after I get the clarification; I haven't used it yet in case they want me to send it back. (I usually don't leave reviews like this, but this isn't really a "question" about the product, nor did I leave poor feedback and will change it to better reflect the item when I know for sure, just giving a heads-up).

Worked well. Application/Installation is Important
I used it as a temporary fix on a pinhole leak in a copper pipe due to acid water.Just "wrapping" the pipe is not enough. You need to put tension on the tape as it is installed. Not too much or it will snap. Then let it sit for a bit (I let it sit for a few hours) so that the layers bond together. And the tension equalizes a bit. Once I did that it worked fine. Not tensioning it, and not letting it "setup" did not work well. I had to repeat, to get it right. The important thing is "pulling" it hard enough, but not too hard on installation. The clear plastic separation layer is important in keeping it from bonding to itself before it is installed. It makes it a bit fiddly but it has to be there.
