I used this to tape an Olympic barbell (Eleiko brand) to prevent the rough part from scrapping thighs. This tape seemed to develop rust spots?

I've never seen Rust Spots develop on the tape when I've used it on my skin. But when you use it on Metal, and perhaps your hand is sweating, maybe rust spots may develop. That's just a guess on my part.
