Q: Will it work for hood for 2015 ford edge?

The description says Fits Ford Edge 2007-2015. I installed it on a 2011 Edge, took about five minutes. Quick and easy fix working great!

Q: both holes face same way. turn end by strut unscrews. other end stiff. do i force this end or unscrew 1/2 turn by strut?

The end on the shiny metal part will turn. The side on the black housing will not turn.
