Southeastern NC Has ALOT of flies!!!
I live in SE NC, by the beach. You would think the flies wouldn't be bad in a coastal environment but every year we struggle to even open our doors as flies would get into the house. HOWEVER we also have chickens, which do create a fly haven. I put one of these near our chicken coop at the beginning of spring and it has done a GREAT job at minimizing the fly population near the coop, its great when I walk over to the coop and I don't have flies landing on my head. This product works really well. Then, since I bought the two pack- I put one near our sliding door going out to our side yard, I put it up on 28May24 and by the end of the day it had a TON of flies, and when I open the door, there are no flies coming into our house!!! I am about to buy another two pack for our garage (where we keep chicken food and bird seed) and our front door. This product works very well...and people say it smells but I have not smelled anything!

IT ACTUALLY WORKS
It ends up smelling very bad (don't hang it near gathering places) but it really works so well. I highly recommend it if you have an outdoor fly problem. I've ordered another one. (I was going to post a picture but thought I would save readers the grossness. You're welcome:-)

This product works!
Great product. Flies are bad in South Florida this summer. I placed it 25' away from the outside grill and sitting area, on the other side of our fence. Initially I hung the bag about 9' in the air and it didn't work well. When I lowered it to about 5' the bag was full in 3.5 days and no flies around. I hung the second bag today and it's already filling. Ordering them again. Place it out of sight and people because, just a warning, it gets pretty gross. I'll take gross over the flies

Effective at catching flies but smells horrible
I purchased these fly traps to get rid of an overwhelming amount of flies we had in our outdoor kitchen/pool area. They were making it hard to enjoy family gatherings or just sitting outside in general. Overall, the traps are easy to set up and use but they smell terrible - like rotten fish. They work great - all the flies were attracted to the trap and were caught in the bag, but it was an unpleasant smell that we unfortunately had too close to our sitting area. I would recommend using these away from where people will be hanging out or eating.

Not as great as you might think!
At first, I thought these bags were great! I originally purchased 2, and then about two weeks later got another 2. Here's what I've learned...1. It catches flies initially, which is great. But then, they start breeding like CRAZY in the bag. All the females are visibly pregnant in there. So, it "looks" like it's catching a ton of flies (and I totally thought it was at first), but in reality, they're just forced so close to each other that they reproduce so fast, and then you have a huge bag of flies. About 2 days after hanging the bags, baby flies appear all over our patio. I think they find their way out of the bag more easily, so it solves a problem then quickly creates another.2. Because of the breeding, the amount of flies in the bag after about a week is so massive, and the smell is HORRIBLE. It smells so potent in our backyard of "dead animal".These still might be worth it for you if you have a really bad problem! But for us, I think it's creating more of a problem than it's solving, so I think we'll try some other methods. $16 per bag gets quite expensive when the problem never really goes away!!

Fly traps
These really work great. It stinks but really draw flies away from where you don't want them. I'm getting ready to order a 6pack to have on hand for when needed.

The 2020 Product is not the same as the effective one of the past
I first bought this in 2010. I bought it again in 2018. Then I bought it in 2020. In contrast to the the 2010 and 2018 traps, the 2020 trap did not attract flies at all, even though we have had severe fly infestations. When I bought it in 2010, the sight of flies struggling to escape but ultimately dying slowly as more and more of their brothers came in and fell on top of them was heart breaking. It was like a torture chamber for flies, but a very effective one. I only ordered it again when we had another year of heavy fly infestations. Again the trap filled with the dead and dying flies. This year we had another heavy year for flies. So I bought it again. But the trap has been redesigned. The flies ignore it. I hung them in the same positions as I had in 2018 but they did not fill with flies. I am very disappointed. It looks like they decided to make it more convenient by putting the very nasty smelling bait in a bag that was supposed to dissolve to free us from the task of opening the powdered bait and pouring it into the trap. Perhaps the bag doesn't really dissolve or perhaps they changed the formula of the bait to make it smell less disgusting to humans (and less attractive to flies). Whatever the reason, this was an entire waste of money and very disappointing too since I had purchased it before and found it to be very effective.

THIS THING WORKS
We have problems with flies getting in our house all summer long. We hang one of these in the back yard and the problem is GONE! Almost immediately, it draws the flies away from the house and we haven't had one in the house since. We get these every year and have never had a problem or disappointment.
