Good, Inexpensive, Keys require deburring
Good lockbox. Just make sure you polish the metal burrs that reside on the keys before you insert them into the lock. Some have complained that the keys didn't work and I can see why that could happen. The metal flakes that were hanging from both my keys could easily foul the lock. The keys have a plated surface that chipped badly during the cutting process and never saw a wire brush. If you want perfection spend hundreds of dollars more. The lockbox is good temporary storage for valuables.

Why is the key such a main issue?
After ready so much about the crazy keys, I filed all the burrs off the keys before using them - the burrs weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. But getting the key to actually open the box took several tries that included wiggling and adjusting how far in I put the key. After using the key to open and lock the lid a few times, it seems to open better now, yet it's not perfect or smooth. It seems like a very nice sturdy box - the manufacturer simply needs to go back in and re-tool a little more to make a better product. But I liked the price and it was just the size I was looking for - and the only box I saw with holes in the sides to screw it into floor joists.

locks and secures well
I didn't install between floor joist but it secures easily and locks/unlocks well with key.

Seems fine for what it is and the price is great
Just install it someplace in the floor and set a box on top of it and you should be good to go. Better yet put it in the floor under you cat box. No one wants to mess with those.... ;-) I am sure this could be broken into without too much effort so I think more than anything if you can install it someplace that is not easy to find it you should be fine. I have read that most people that rob a house try and spend no more than a few minuets in the house so putting this in the floor or someplace where people would not think to look should make you good to go.

Read this before you Purchase
I bought this safe for the Price and because there wasn't a lot of other options on amazon for floor safes in this size. When i tested the key/ lock on the safe before i installed it, the key opened the door just fine, however the key was stuck in the lock and i could not remove it. I checked the 1 year limited warranty and Barksa request a check/ money order of $30 to cover inspection, Shipping and handling and to allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. In order to avoid this i disassembled the lock while the safe was opened and was able to unscrew the plates and slip the key out. I reassembled the lock and tried the second key and it worked just fine. Reading back through other reviews it appears filing the burs off the keys will fix the key issue (JUST REMEMBER TO DO THIS PRIOR TO TESTING OUT THE KEYS...) I installed the safe in a new concrete floor. if you have done concrete before the installation is pretty straight forward. installation instructions call to level the safe first and pour concrete around the underside. after that i removed my leveling boards and poured the slab flush with the Cover. i used tape and plastic to make sure no concrete seeped into the openings. i covered my slab with a foam pad and carpet. If you wanted to remove or break into the safe i am sure you could with a grinder wheel and pry bar/ sledge hammer, however chances are that would take some time and you probably would have a hard time finding it in a hidden spot. See Photos . i gave it a 3 star review, because it seems like Barska Quality control of their product needs to be improved and there warranty policy doesn't put there customers first. Over all i would buy the product again, but i think this product could be improved.
