INGEAR, Inc. Lack of Support
The product itself appears well made and the light is quite bright. I am not able to comment on the function of the seat belt cutter or window hammer and hope never to be able to attest to how they work, but they appear to be as described. The reason for the 1 star is due to the lack of a company website. There is a card that comes with the product which provides a website to register the product as well as provides the CEO's email address. Unfortunately, upon trying to register, it appears there is no website at the address provided, nor have I been able to find one through Google, so I am sure that means the email address won't work either. Therefore, it seems safe to assume that the 30-day money back guarantee, 3-year no-cost warranty and lifetime limited warranty are useless if you have any issues with the product. Buyers should just beware purchasing this product as it appears there will be no support for it should anything go wrong.UPDATE: I received an email from the Company today indicating their website is currently down for about a week as they upgrade and transfer from one domain provider to another. I have to say given I received their response within hours of posting my comment, it certainly appears they care about and plan to take care of their customers. I would now purchase the product with no reservations and updated my review to 5 stars given that my prior rating was based on what I perceived to be a lack of available support.

I like the multiple features
I got this one because of the multiple features (window hammer, seat belt cutter & flash light). Also, I read another review that said it had quite a bit of weight to it and could probably be used as a weapon for protection. As a female, I thought that might not be such a bad thing. Now, I still haven't actually put it in my car (no excuse, just lazy), but I plan to try to use the adhesive and avoid the screws. We'll see how well the adhesive works. I really like the flashlight feature. I haven't used it outside, but it seems pretty bright and has a lower setting and an SOS flashing setting. However, it's actually not as heavy as I thought it would be. If I use it as a weapon, it would be using the window hammer to jab someone, not the weight of the item. The other thing I don't quite understand is that there are 2 window hammers. A blunted one on the outside (or the cap), and when you remove the cap, there's a sharper window hammer, along with the seat belt cutter. I don't understand the purpose for both and why one is more blunt than the other.Overall, I like it enough and if the adhesive works well, I'll be able to place it in a location where both the driver and passenger should be able to access it in an emergency.

A Sturdy Device
This is the unit you want in your car. The housing is aluminum, which is better than plastic for jobs where hitting something hard and perhaps repeatedly is important. And the enclosed flashlight is powerful. A potential problem exists with the seat belt cutter, however. It's exposed by pulling off the cap the holds the window breaker. One can envision a circumstance where one pulls the cap, cuts the seat belt, but then needs to break the window but loses the cap in the confusion brought about by a disaster. Thus one should have to have the presence of mind to break glass first should the occasion warrant.Whatever brand one chooses, be sure to put it somewhere where you cant get to it in a second or two in the dark. I have mine attached with rubber bands to the driver's side sun visor where I can get to it in a second or two

It's all Hypothesis.
This is a tool to be used in a potentially fatal or, at least, extremely life threatening situation involving a motor vehicle. That said, it's not as if this is a tool that you plan on using for giggles. It can not be rated until AFTER the fact, if you're still alive. That's the problem with rating algorithms: we called it GIGO, back in the day. My Hope is that the tool would work as described in the sale section. Seat belt slicers are useful -- if you have arm or hand function. Cracking the windows, you need the presence of mind to remember where to strike and the strength to do so. The SOS signal light feature is a welcome additional feature. All in all, this is an insurance tool. Better to have it and NOT need it than to need it and NOT have it.

Light Quit
I was looking at other newer products and thought that I had better replace the batteries in my ingear unit. Went out to the car. Put new eneloop batteries in, No Light. Tried regular AAA batteries. No light. Glad it wasn't an emergency. Don't know how to contact the company. Very Dissatisfied.

Awesome tool
I have had this thing a while now and will say,Awesome tool to have, this thing will smash a window with no problem and the seatbelt cutter is pretty good too. I would definitely have this tool in my EDC bag and definitely going to buy another one. The only thing I am not happy with but is a real easy thing to fix,the double sided tape that comes with this so you can have it hang in your vehicle will NOT hold it. To anyone buying this go to your hardware store and buy better double sided tape to hold it, remember this thing has weight to it so buy the good stuff. To anyone looking for a really good emergency tool this one is definitely one of them

Rugged and ready!
I purchased two of these auto escape tools. One for my personal vehicle and another for my work truck. Having previously been a first responder to an accident and having a very difficult time breaking a window and cutting someone free from a seat belt - I understand the value of this product. I have not used it so I cannot attest to how well it works. What I can say is that it is rugged, exactly as advertised and I believe it is worth the price paid. I hope to never need this tool. I loaded the batteries and the flashlight worked well on all settings. No complaints!

Quality
Without having had to break glass with it, I still love this product. I would have probably given it 5 stars. It feels heavy and well made. The light is very bright and it is nice having the option of the screws or adhesive. I will end up getting one for my dad.
