The gold standard for instrument mics
Anyone who knows microphones knows that Shure is the refactor standard for micing all manner of instruments and singers. King among their mic lineup is the SM57. No doubt you’ve heard this mic thousands of times across all kinds of recordings. Add to that the Beta 52 for kick drum and mounts and this is a formidable kit for micing drums. I only wish Shure offered a kit with a couple of SM81s for overheads, but that would add to the kit cost significantly. If you’re a drummer and you don’t currently have a mic kit get this and a pair of SM81s and you’ll be set. This kit is a good value proposition for any drummer

Great mics for a great price
This offer is a steal, and the clamps that come with the mics are very nice. You'll need a heavy-duty boom or low standing mic stand for the 52A. Some of the metal washers had slipped out of their plastic bags during transit and I had to search through the case for them, but everything was inside when I received the package.

Good mics, great price.
If you're doing live sound or a budget, or just starting to get into decent recording gear, this is definitely not a bad place to start. You can put an SM57 in front of just about anything and get a usable sound. A lot of people love them on snare's and guitar cabs, and get fantastic sounds from them. I'm sure you could get BETTER sound from other mics, but it's a very versatile mic, and is a great bang for your buck. It would never hurt to have 3 in your mic locker... especially if you're doing live sound. I haven't used mine live so I can't comment on the included rim mounts as I use stands in the studio, but they seem like they'd get the job done.Given the choice, I'd probably prefer to own an AKG D112 over the Beta 52... but I couldn't pass up the price of this pack. I have both, and use them for different things, depending on the sound I want. I'm definitely not complaining about the Beta 52. I'm super happy with it, and it definitely has its place in the studio and venue. The Beta 52 is less expensive... especially if you buy it in this pack. So why limit yourself to one kick mic? Start with this pack, and if you feel like you need another mic down the road when you have extra cash, get a different one. The more the better. If your goal is to mic a drum kit on a budget, get these and a budget pair of small diaphragm condensers for overheads (MXL 603s perhaps), and you're set.If you know exactly what you want and don't mind spending a bit more, buy different mics. If you're on a budget (studio OR live), are just getting into the realm of decent gear and need a starting point, or happen to be searching for a few SM57's and a Beta 52, this is the package for you!

This set is marketed as a "drum mic kit" but ...
This set is marketed as a "drum mic kit" but of course they can be used on anything. The shure sm57 paired with a MD421 is my preferred setup for guitar and 2 sm57 for the top and bottom snare. The beta52 can capture some beefy low end so I use it for inside the kick drum as well as bass amps. Definitely worth the price.

Great sound per dollar Quotient
Standard mics for live performance. More expensive gear out there but these are great for average live music performers and sound engineers. Don’t use mounting clips so don’t know how well they work.
