I was having difficulty deciding between the single and double watch version of this winder. One of the reviewers commented, “it does not rotate the watches enough to keep time”. There were plenty of other glowing reviews, but decided to get the single in case it really doesn’t rotate enough.The instructions come with a chart of various watch brands, how many rotations per day, and which direction, (clockwise, counter clockwise, or both directions) is recommended. The winder has 4 turning modes, 650, 950, 1250, and 1850 turns per day, and the three direction options I listed.For Rolex the chart recommends between 650 to 800 turns per day in both directions. I put my 2006 GMT Master 2 on the winder, set at 950 turns per day in both directions. After two days I took the watch off the winder and set it on a flat surface. The watch finally stopped at a little over 44 hours. I manually wound it 30 turns, set the time and, put it back on the winder; lowering the setting to 650 turns per day, and repeated the experiment. The results were identical.This winder has zero issue keeping watches wound, at least Rolexes. It’s aesthetically pleasing, one of the nicer looking winders in my opinion. It’s very quiet, appears to be quite well made, and has real glass instead of plastic for the front panel. My only regret is not getting the double watch version. If there are any significant changes in the future I’ll amend my review.

I originally purchased a dual winder from another well known brand for almost double the price of 2 of these. After I did some research, I found out the Heiden is actually a good brand and the Heiden actually has better features than the other brand (e.g. adjustable TPD). I purchased 2 of the Monaco Single Watch Winder since it supports D-cell battery operations and returned my other winder.I put the winders on my small bookshelf and it runs silently. It winds for a couple minutes and then stop for about an hour before it starts up again, at least at the 650 TPD setting. According to the GS springdrive power reserve indicator, the 650 TPD (setting recommended by the manufacture) would maintain the power reserve, but not wind the watch (e.g. when I put the watch in the winder half charge, it will maintain at half charge but not fully charge the watch).Another nice feature I found out is that Heiden actually sell replacement motor for the winder, so if the winder motor wears out, you can replace the motor for $20 USD instead of buying a whole new winder

One of my watches, a Concord, needs no battery because it gets wound with wrist movement - but I only wear this watch occasionally and it runs down if not worn. It's a pain to reset the time and date, so I was looking for a reliable winder and checked out numerous options at Amazon, settling on the Heiden Monaco Single Watch Winder. The black leather box-shape case is handsome. There is choice between AC electric plug-in power, or 2 D batteries - and I chose option 2 and stored the cord. The Monaco operates very quietly, I can only hear it if I get very close and there's no noise from elsewhere. It's cool to watch the winder in operation, turning the watch in circles, in both directions. I can see it sitting there in the corner of my computer hutch, doing its thing. Not the cheapest option, but a solid investment.
