Q: I see one review where the ink smeared using a Canon Pixma ink jet - anyone have positive results? I don't have a laser printer

I used an HP office jet printer with no problems. Should be quite similar to your Canon.

Q: Will these resist alcohol in perfume?

These labels should be able to resist some alcohol from perfume spray, but I would not advise rubbing alcohol on these labels directly.

Q: Can these labels be used on 3-ring binder spines?

They are 1 1/4 by 1 3/4 so I would say yes on everything except the 1 inch and smaller binders. Avery template allows you to print portrait or landscape if you want to use it.

Q: Can you use these for chapstick labels or are they too big ??

I would think them a bit big as the would almost completely circle the stick.
