One works great, two not so much.
I recently purchased a new sump pump and backup pump system for my 35 year old sump well. I bought two of these pump stands because my last pump failed due to clogging from silt and algae build up in the bottom of the well. Outside of the well, they fit both the primary and backup Wayne pumps perfectly. But inside the well, using a yin yang layout, I wasn't able to position the pumps, tie in all the piping, and set the backup float such that everything was below the max water line. My well is not deep enough nor wide enough to accommodate both. What I really needed was a full well standoff (a large molded plastic circle with holes), about half as high as this pump stand, which would allow me to position my pumps where ever they needed to be, but not touching the bottom of the well, and fit properly without being constrained by the molded pump stand. But no one makes that... I even though about using just one stand, but for which pump? The primary should be lifted as it's the one that will do most of the work, but the backup is the one pump you need to have the most confidence in. I ended up returning both stands. My last pump ran for 15 years before the build up cut its life, so it's on me to clean out the sump well with my wet/dry vac every other year to keep the pumps operating properly. If my well had been slightly wider and slightly deeper, I'd be using stands on both pumps.

Better than a brick...
Traditionally, two bricks have been used in sump basins to raise your sump pump by a couple of inches. This keeps small stones and sediments out of the impeller and extends the life of the pump. There are two main reasons why using this sump pump stand is a better solution than a couple of bricks:1. The bottom of sump pump basins can be slightly uneven. This stand has three legs so no matter how uneven the bottom of your sump basin, the pump won’t be unstable. Bricks on a slightly uneven surface will allow the pump to rock and sway.2. The stand has cut outs to allow sediment that has been churned up to flow back to the bottom of the basin. Two bricks present a flat surface that will allow sediment to accumulate and to be sucked up into the sump pump’s impeller. So bricks may not do as much to isolate your sump pump from sediment. This stand is solid, but it would still make sense to zip tie the center area of your pump—the area between the discharge port and the pump motor—to the stand, reducing the possibility for the stand or pump to shift. Using a zip tie will also make it easier to position the pump and stand in the basin.Compared to the numerous look-alike sump pump stands, the PumpSpy stand is heavier-duty.

Sump pump base
The base works well keeping the pump away from dirt and gravel. It keeps it level. It protects the pump well.

I wasn’t happy spending money on this, but that’s not the stand’s fault
It does its job. It’s good thick plastic, so it’s quality. It doesn’t make any noise because it’s a pump stand. For the money, it is fine, well it’s probably a little bit overpriced, but it’s a unique item that holds a pump. The installation was really nice. You just kind of put it in the hole and set the pump on top of it. There are stands out there that also hold the pipe this one doesn’t, and I don’t find it. It makes a difference but then again I’ve never had one that holds the pipe myself so maybe they’re better - they’re certainly more expensive.

Does what it's supposed to do!
Not much to say about this product except that it works, keeping your sump pump slightly elevated so that any junk that may have settled in the bottom of the sump doesn't get sucked into the impeller of the pump.

Floats!?
There is nothing like this for the price, but it floats! Granted I should drain and bail the whole tank before putting in the new sump and this new stand, but like a normal lazy person I just wanted to install in the wet sump pit. The plastic stand, less than half the main competitor mind you, FLOATS. You can try and turn it up-side-down and shake it underwater to get most of the bubbles to drift out, but it's still buoyant. Trying to hang down a sump it with a 50lb pump while holding down the floating stand and line everything up was a nightmare. But hey, $15 for a stand.
