This kit is fantastic. The push button connectors allow you to reverse the drill when you hit a clog — which you WILL do if your vent hasn’t been cleaned in 20 years like mine. I could not believe how much lint came out - it was clump after clump!The narrower brush that comes with with this kit was a MUST HAVE for me. I thought the larger diameter one was the only one I needed but I was wrong. Now matter how much I tried to push the larger brush through several clogs it would just stop. Using the narrower brush worked perfectly, with HUGE clumps of lint coming out once you’ve “dug” through it. I kept alternating between the smaller and larger diameter brushes to finally really clean the vent pipe.A few hints:1. Be patient. Use only the slowest speed on your drill. Using high speed does nothing but potentially bind the brush on an obstruction. Go ONE two foot section at a time. Use the narrow brush to clear the path, pull that two foot section completely out, replace it with the larger brush and repeat. Switch the two brushes until that section is clear. You won’t believe how much lint comes out with each section. Add another two foot section and repeat. If you aren’t patient you’ll just create blockages that are difficult to pull out.2. Add a little bit of penetrating oil on the push buttons. It makes it much easier to add sections and push the buttons to remove sections.3. If you have a very long run (mine is over 25 feet) first clean out the first few feet from the dryer side. Then after that, it helps a LOT to put that connection back on and turn the dryer on (no heat) and then clear out sections from the outdoor end. The airflow from the dryer pushes all of the loosened lint outward (kind of messy) rather than letting it just sit in the vent pipe.After cleaning out the whole pipe the airflow was MUCH improved (not to mention much safer).

Product worked as advertised. My vent was not as long as I thought so I could have used the shorter unit. Will be nice if someone needs to borrow it or if the rods break in the future that wasy I have spare rods. Really impressed at how well everything worked. The rods are very flexible so no issues getting up the vent. Even used it to clean the flex hook up pipe just removed some of the rods to shorten it to make it more manageable. I have a newer dryer and it has been installed for five years and the vent was never cleaned. There was plenty of lint built up but I found no blockage. The amount of lint removed was very little so I know that this will not need to be performed as much as my old dryer. I know my old dryer had a loose fitting lint screen in the dryer and it let a lot more lint pass by up the vent pipe in the old house. Proper maintenance is the key to making the dryer more efficient I will see if we notice any change in the dryer function.

Very good overall, hope to enjoy for a long time as it seems nicely made and easy to use. The small 2" OD brush attachment should be shorter or in a teardrop shape to hopefully allow the product to turn 90°; the system did not perform one single elbow turn as advertised.

This order had a drill adaptor that was 3 mm too large for the nylon rod. We went ahead and used it to unstop a 25 foot pvc dryer vent. Used a drill that barely tightened down against the nylon rod, and the 4 inch and if it got stopped, used it without the brush to break it up. Then used the 4 inch to break up more. The longer brush we could not use, because it would not make 90 degree bend. Then used a gas leaf blower to blow back into the house with the packed and wet stuff. Worked very good. What a mess! See photo. BUT contacted Puppymate about the adaptor not fitting. Today they sent 2 opened kits to try and give us the adaptor to fit. The second kit did have the perfect piece. They were very helpful to try and help us. This kit is well worth the money to use as just described. And the company is great

It did not work well in my dryer vent. I guess it had to many twists and turns....

It's possible this product saved us from having a house fire. Though we love having our laundry room upstairs, the dryer vent has to make two 90 degree turns, one up into the attic, then another to cross half of our house to get outside. It's well over 40 feet of piping. Our dryer was not working. It would run but never dry anything. We'd tried various repairs. We always cleaned out the lint trap and we tried to vacuum out the pipe. Finally, my husband bought this and used it to clean out the dryer vent from inside and removed two grocery bags full of lint. He climbed up to the outside vent and used this tool and removed three more bags of lint. I'm so glad to know our dryer vent is now clear. Surprise, surprise, the dryer works great. ;)

I bought this to use to clean my HVAC duct's, which would have worked great but the brush is only 4 inch and was to small. This unit is more for cleaning out the dryer exhaust vent when it might get clogged. I can tell you in all honesty that this is very well made and easy to use!

It performed well enough to get the job done. It did "wind-up" a couple of times, which stresses the segment that twists. However, using a little caution with the drill motor resolves the issue. I'm sure I will get more use out of it. I like that it locks the segments without a threaded connection. An incorrect action with the drill could create a real problem with the threaded types. I would recommend this product.
