Super Anchor Safety Retro-Fit Anchor Kit
Part # 2815. This is a perfect safety anchor. I have a two story home with one side of the home rather steep...a little scary to be on the roof. These anchors are well built, stout, and I found to be just right for the retro-fit. I was specifically looking for the stainless-steel anchors for the salt-air climate that I live in. Utilized my roofer to install the anchor at the ridge. All the parts there for install including a self-sealing rubber gasket, specialty nails, and clear directions. The most difficult part was ensuring that the anchors would be installed properly to ridge boards (one area) and trusses (another area).

Installation wasn't that bad...
So HD said they had 6 permanent mounts. When I got there, all they had was temporary mounts ......I don't care that you're doing inventory and it will all come out... I need them now. So I ordered these, and they appeared a day later. Really, installing wasn't that bad. I figured out where the wall started under the overhang and a couple rafters back from that, pulled about three cap shingles, lined it up with the rafter and then nailed this down. I also drilled a couple more holes and used some high quality deck screws to make it a bit more secure ...cause ...nails, really? I did one for each end of the house because it has a ledge that I need to walk out on to paint and its about 20 foot down to the cement on the short side. Much cheaper than hiring a painter and way cheaper than a trip to the hospital.

Little expensive for what it is . . but it works great.
PRO:1. Comes with hardware and tar.2. Has a lot of other uses too.CON:1. Price. I could make one myself, just don't have time.2. Did not need the tar that came with it, but it was nice.Other:1. Install it so it is not going to come loose.2. Keep in mind this is for ONE PERSON.

Great product
I'm a custom home builder in North Carolina and we build a lot of houses on challenging and steep lots. I have been using these safety anchors for the past year on all of my houses to give a secure tie off point for my roofing and siding subcontractors. They are easy to install and are a great marketing tool for our company since they stay on the roof for the homeowner's use for many years to come.

Love it
I was able to save lots of money. Because of this Hook, I was able to climb on my roof.

Buy it worth it.
Installed two on my 8/12 pitch roof. It came complete with instructions and the appropriate nails. I bent it to the appropriate curve and mounted directly on the roof truss.I would buy this again.

Provides some peace of mind while climbing
Well, I never fell off the roof, so I cannot vouch for whether it would hold, but I did use it to haul myself up and down the roof over many days. It held strong. Because I wanted security before I went up on the roof, I mounted this anchor vertically on one of the vertical deck support beams -- with all nails to ensure shear strength -- and then after I worked my way to the top I added another (permanent) anchor at the ridge.

Works as advertised
I installed this permanently on my roof. Although there is a sealing material on the back, I also chose to get so good quality roofing sealing to go over the nails and down the edges to keep any water out. Probably over kill but for a couple of bucks extra why not have peace of mind?

Best idea for Christmas lights
This is the best style so far. I go on and off the roof twice a year for Christmas lights, and this allows me to tie off with my safety harness with no effort. Took some time to bury them under the shingles, but now no one knows they’re even there. No just tie off and go to work on those lights

They function as designed
My real issue lay in how to attach them to penetrate *my* roof without it leaking, as they need to attach as directly as possible to something that can handle the 10,000lb force. Doing that when all my roof documentation had me installing strapping for rainscreening was obnoxious at best.Consider your layers and how you're going to do this before you buy.

Ok semble bien fait et solide.

Great product
Easy to install but you need to read the instructions to do it properly. I ordered 3, one of them was unwrapped and covered with some black pitch but it didn't show any damage or signs of being used.I installed them on a metal roof and they just stick out perfectly from the ridge cap. We don't even see them from the ground.
