Fantastic little device! A must for any doodlers!
The media could not be loaded. Great little gadget! This pencil connected straight away—no faffing about, no mysterious Bluetooth dances, just boom, it’s on. Bonus points for the colour too. I mean, the other brand charges ten times the price and thinks white is the only colour in existence. Bold choice, Apple, bold choice.Grip-wise, it feels just right—like an actual pencil, not like you’re holding a toddler’s chunky crayon. Light, comfy, and surprisingly natural to use. The drawing ability? Honestly top-notch. Super responsive, smooth lines, and none of that lag that makes you wonder if your iPad is taking a nap. Best part: it doesn’t just randomly disconnect mid-sketch like some of the cheaper knock-offs. (Looking at you, bargain bin stylus.)Battery life? Basically immortal. I swear I’ve charged it once and it’s still going strong. And when it does need a boost, it plugs straight into the port at the top—simple and painless. The double-tap to wake is a neat little trick too, like giving it a polite nudge to say, “oi, time to work.”Overall, this is a fantastic little device for the price. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t blow the budget on the “big name” version. More cash left over for snacks, coffee, and, you know… more things to draw.

Very good value basic pencil compatible with the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air (2025 versions)
I found this little Apple Pencil clone via an online review, which has proven very useful. As both of us have new iPads, I thought it would be good to try something new but as I've never had any form of electronic pencil before, I was wary of buying the new Apple Pencil Pro at £129. What if I just wasn't a pencil person, or had no artistic talent with a drawing programme? Now I'm not going to worry about the extra functionality the real Pencil Pro has and because I don't have an artistic streak I can't comment on how well it draws, or not. I also bought this because I thought it may double as a pointer for my wife, one whose pointy end won't fail after a few weeks of use (as her cheap, disposable ones do consistently). This may not be designed as a pointer but she finds it works very well with the 'point to paint' artwork she likes to complete. In fact, I haven't really had a look-in since I asked her to try it. She says it is much easier to be accurate with this pointer's end, which makes me happy. In fairness I must say when she's using it to tap-tap on iPad Air, it is noisier than a conventional fabric tipped pointer.I think it has a good weight in your hand and looks as if it will last a reasonable time (it has a spare pointy end). It charges quickly enough, the USB-C port is convenient and the 'tap-tap' action on the pencil-end to start using it and turn off works well. As does the auto-turn off after 5 minutes. From our use, I'd say it was fit for purpose and, at a fraction of the cost of the real Apple Pencil, warmly recommended. I may even buy one for myself!

Very good pen and easy to use.
The pen is very good and much cheaper than Apple, it works fine and I am satisfied with it. I thoroughly recommend it.

Simply Brilliant!
Having never owned a pen for my iPad previously, this was incredibly simple - take it out the box, turn it on and it works instantly. It automatically connects to the iPad and works better than I could have ever expected. It charges in minutes and is incredibly responsive and accurate.Would highly recommend as a much cheaper alternative to the branded version.

A worthy alternative to the Apple Pencil
I purchased this as a backup to my Apple Pencil Pro to use with the iPad Pro M4. Side by side the Metapen and Pencil Pro look identical (see pic enclosed). If it wasn’t for the charging status light and USB-C charging connector on the Metapen they would be as they share exactly the same dimensions. It’s only when you pick them up and use them that the differences become apparent. In the hand they feel and handle exactly the same even though the Metapen is slightly lighter, but only by a negligible 4grams. In use the Metapen lacks the some of the key features and functionality of the Pencil Pro, specifically the Haptic feedback, Double Tap, Squeeze, and Pressure sensitivity. If you are a serious artist or content creator you will benefit from these advanced features and functionality but for the vast majority of Pencil users like me, they are overkill. In all other respects the Metapen works just as well as the Pencil Pro. It’s robust, the magnet attaches firmly to the iPad, it holds its charge for hours of use, and it interacts with the screen with the same preciseness and latency. While I miss the instant functionality and wireless charging of the Pencil Pro, having to double-tap the top of the Metapen to activate it isn’t a major inconvenience.A word of advice if you decide to purchase and already own an Apple Pencil, both the Apple Pencil and Metapen work via Bluetooth, so if your Apple Pencil is already paired with the iPad, you will first have to disconnect it in Bluetooth settings, “Forget this device”, in order for the Metapen to pair with the iPad.I should add that my comments refer to the second, replacement Metapen I received as the first had a problem with the magnetic attraction being weak and not being fully compatible with the magnet polarity of the latest iPad Pro M4. It worked in all other respects though. Following an email exchange with Rosie at Metapen the problem was resolved in 24 hours and a new compatible A8 pen arrived the next day.The excellent service and support from Metapen together with my experience with the pen make it a worthy alternative to the Apple Pencil Pro, providing of course that you can live without some of the described functionality. But bear in mind that this functionality comes at a price with the Pencil Pro a hefty 158% more expensive, equivalent to almost 8 Metapens.

This is a very similar to the apple pen!
Great price, works like the real pen. It’s amazing when making kits and it’s pretty accurate. Writes the same as the apple pen, I would say that the battery life is better than my apple pen. I got mine in white and looks really good!

Much better than expected
Great pen/pencil. Works as described. Charged fast. Pressure sensitivity is spot on. Just like writing with a pen. No lag. Is magnetic to hold pen on side of iPad. Set up is just plug and play- brilliant idea.
