Games Workshop Warhammer 40K: Space Marines Blood Angels Battleforce

My friend in college convinced me to get started playing Warhammer 40,000 about a year ago. I had dabbled in the minis before, having bought a couple from my experience with the board game Space Hulk (which I would recommend), but never knew *anything* about the game itself until I started learning from my friend. My biggest complaint about this product, and other 40k products is that it is an EXTREMELY expensive hobby, but I've noticed that Amazon tends to sell things for a bit cheaper (even after shipping) than game stores and Games Workshop's website.As for the product itself, it's great! The included models are quite detailed, with plenty of room to customize your units with various weapons and accessories. The Blood Angels are, in a word, awesome; an emphasis on close combat, but generally just as skilled with ranged weaponry as other Space Marines (i.e. pretty good). The included Death Company is one of the most devastating infantry units I have ever seen, with good close combat, the ability to shrug off most wounds, and the potential to give them jump packs.A caution: these models require glue and paints to make the most out of them, but you can get a starter-kit with some paints and a brush, but you would need to get other things to help assemble your army; there's a model-safe super-glue offered by several brands (beginners should be careful, as some glues *will not* allow you to correct mistakes), and clippers for separating parts from the plastic frame. A larger brush is recommended for the rhino, as it would take a LONG time to paint that thing with a standard one. Files are recommended to help remove stubs from parts.If you plan to play, instead of just enjoy the neat models, you will also need the Blood Angels codex, the main rulebook, and an HQ unit (like a captain, or a unique character).Long story short, if you are interested in Blood angels, I cannot recommend this set enough.

This is a great way to build upon your Blood Angels army or expand your forces. I did the math and it saves you some good money, so I really recommend it. Great detail to the figures, especially Death Company. I would suggest you buy tiny magnets and a micro drill (if you don't already own them) to further customize your weapon and gear load outs for your units. Like the Death Company, being so expensive to field, I switch between jump packs and weapons to accomodate to my point roster. But I really enjoyed this product, and I would buy another one in the near future.

Great addition to anyone's Blood Angel army. Although the only Blood Angel exclusive unit in the set is the Death Company. The Rhino is just your plain Astartes Rhino and the same goes with the Assault Squad and the Tactical Squad. By that I mean they could be painted as any Space Marine chapter because they don't contain any Blood Angels only iconography sculpted into the actual models themselves. But still a great buy and you get quite a lot for the money you are spending.

The item was a great find. I was just looking into getting into warhammer 40k for the first time and didnt want to spend to much money starting up something that i may not continue to play. Great price and came quickly in mail. package was in mint condition and all pieces accounted for. Still in plastic wrap as well. Great for anyone wanting to get into the space marines area of warhammer 40K. All you need other than this is a commander and you are good to go.

My son loves this stuff. This is precisely what he wanted when he ordered it. This is an excellent army for Warhammer.
