I've bought many cheaper lights and had to replace them pretty quickly. I was reluctant to splash out so much money on this but it's been worth it.The charge lasts absolutely ages and the light is super bright. I love that you can change the colours. It fits perfectly on the matching harness.

These were very good in the Scottish highlands, where it literally is black at night, very bright and stayed I. Place with two gun dogs who love to run!

I use this with a Ruffwear Webmaster harness and have not experienced any issues with the clip, it seems well made and unlikely to become unlatched. Being waterproof it gives me confidence of lasting in all weather conditions and the nighttime performance was great, very clear and easy to spot my dog (a Whippet) whilst he goes on his large 100m circular zoomies through long grass.It has three colours - RED, GREEN and BLUE, it has a mode for each of steady, flashing or slow cycling of brightness.The three colours are fine but I would like it to have a white led set also.The cons - The metal clip is garbage, it is just plain awful by design. Hard to use, hard to remove and in the way when fitted into the light attachment area of the Ruffwear harness which is specifically designed for this light.I removed the clip and put it in the appropriate place - the trash.Overall I'm very pleased with the Ruffwear Beacon, I suspect it works best when used with Ruffwear's harnesses and would suggest replacing the clip with something better.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this a couple of months now and it is extremely durable! I have it attached to my guide dogs collar as it is important that we can be seen in the dark. Because of this it has been subjected to snow, hail and rain and it has no problems.The battery lasts a really really long time I think I have only had to charge it once.It is super bright by far the brightest collar light I have ever owned I love that I can choose the colour and pattern of the light.It is the most expensive collar light I have ever purchased but it has been well worth it.The video is it being modelled by Guide dog Ollie

I bought this for our Bedlington Whippet and in particular to keep both of us safe on our dark night and early morning walks. We live in a fairly remote area but the start of our walk involves a section along a busy country road and the drivers cannot see a dark coloured dog easily at the high speed they approach us. Since I have been using the light attached to his harness I have noticed that the cars all slow when they see the flashing light.The light has the additional benefit in making it easier to find your dog - a grey/black dog when off the lead is hard to see in the early morning or the fading light in the evening.The light fits the top of his RuffWear harness perfectly and has not come loose yet, indeed it is very secure. A friend in the village has the same light and harness and he too has had no issues as mentioned in other reviews. Possible issue then with non Ruffwear harnesses?

Great light, really bright and visible, maybe a bit on the expensive side, but works well for me - third one I have bought. Rechargeable via the supplied micro USB cable - you just need a spare USB port or phone charger (not supplied!); battery life seems good and build quality is excellent. I have found that I need more than one for maximum visibility as dusk, since I am fitting the light onto a fairly loose dog collar, so the weight tends to make a single light end up underneath my dog's neck (it isn't noticeably heavy, but it will end up there fairly easily); mounting it high on a dog harness would not give the same issue

I have tried so many rechargeable dog collar lights but the Beacon is superb. We mostly walk off lead and Beagles are prone to rapid acceleration when on the scent. The Beacon is small in size and liteweight but the illumination is amazing - confident half a mile or so visibility. It is attached to his collar first thing each morning together with the Tractive and removed each night for recharging. Recommended, especially if you have an active dog.

Stopped working after 4 weeks. While it was working it was difficult to turn on and off and the connection for the charging lead seemed poor quality.
