Good Stand But Not Very Sturdy
Easy to assemble but not very sturdy

Nice looking but unsteady
I wouldn't recommend these stands if you have children or pets, otherwise they seem to do the job.

Bargain for 19.99
Absolute bargain if you can get it for 19.99.Had to wait 25 days but similar stands are 80 to 150 . quality build and very easy to assemble.Just remember to buy double sided tape as it's NOT secured to the Sonos unit it just sits on the shelf.

Not fit for purpose.
The media could not be loaded. I am not impressed with the poor execution of creating this product. I will say that it looks as good as expected and feels sturdy in itself. As I put it together I was growing confused as to how my £500 speaker was going to be stable on top of the stand. I get to the last page of instructions and it shows me how to fit the speaker on top. “Fit” is a bit of an overstatement. It just sits on top and any slight knock would easily displace the speaker. There is note saying that 3M strips can be affixed to the speaker and stand to secure it but... these are not included! Really Sanus?! For the sake of a small cost to you, they couldn’t be included when spending this much on a stand? Add the extra £1 to the cost and hide it there if you care so little about your customers. This placement issue is especially poor if you plan to place the speaker on top of the stand in a horizontal orientation rather than vertical as it has even less security and will easily slide on the smooth Sonos finish.I primarily purchased these as I wanted to set my 2 Sonos Play:5 speakers up in stereo and not have to have furniture to place them on but keep them at the right height for listening. My expectation in a speaker stand would also be that it would offer superior performance against unwanted sound transference. Sanus do provide rubber feet for hard floors and carpet spikes for carpet but these just stop slipping of the base (ironically making the likelihood of it being your speaker that falls that much greater). There is nothing that sits between the metal speaker shelf and the case of the speaker. This is a huge no no for a speaker stand or anyone that understands sound. On a basic level, they do raise a speaker to a good listening height and allow me a certain flexibility on placement. The problem is that I don’t fancy the prospect of someone accidentally knocking one when using the touch controls on my speaker or walking past and breaking a very expensive speaker when it topples off.Really shocking that this can be considered a product. I have no frame of reference to other stands available but I figured that at £77, it would be fit for purpose. Find a shelf or table instead or perhaps spend even more money. I don’t think it’s acceptable that Sanus have discovered the issue of insecurity and their solution is to print in the instructions that the customer should buy another product from a 3rd party to affix the speaker to the PURPOSE MADE speaker stand. This is not a generic speaker stand that you could choose to place your Sonos Play:5 speaker on. It was designed and marketed specifically for that model.

Ignore the reviews
Having upgraded to Sonos Five (ie 3rd gen of Play: 5) I spent ages trying to find an alternative to Flexson's pricey stands which are recommended by Sonos. I read the reviews and was dismayed to learn that the stands do not secure these speakers, which people keep repeating cost £500. True enough, they do cost £500. However, the principles of gravity still work the same way. These stands do not fix in any way the speakers on top of them (unlike Play: 5 Gen 1 stands by Flexson which have two screws). The reason for that is quite simple: the speakers have no place to mount a screw. A grip may work but is a tad unsightly and defeats the purpose of a stand compared to a mount.Having said that, I am glad I ignored the negative reviews and bought a pair of these. The speakers are sufficiently secure on top. They are heavy and rest on the top plate of the stand. That also has 3 spots where the speaker slots into them (ie two spots at the front and one at the rear, small bits of protruding plastic from the shell of the speaker slot in here). These are tiny but with the weight of the speaker, they do the job. There is no way a speaker will 'fall off.' If it is kicked or pushed hard by a pet or child, frankly it has to be hard enough to topple the stand, any stand for that matter. If a stand topples, it doesn't matter how fixed the speaker is, it will fall with the stand. That's why 3M command strips are only needed to create greater stability by adhering the speaker to the stand; they are not supposed to *fix* the speaker in the sense, that it stays glued to the stand if it topples over. The point, I think, is to make them more stable in case of someone brushing against them or if they are knocked.I think the reviews criticising this are off the mark and unrealistic. This is not a wall bracket, it's a stand. The speakers are secure enough but if you have young boisterous children or pets, then perhaps a stand is the wrong thing to place a £500 speaker atop.My only gripe about these is that they come with a somewhat off-putting silver trim on the front of the post, which is not as nice as pure white. In conclusion:- Stand adequately secures the speaker, they are solid and stable. The rubber feet make sure the stand doesn't wobble or is unstable with eg brushing past-They suit both Play 5: Gen 2 and the new Play Fives-3M command strips are a good call to create greater stability in case of eg knocks.-The speaker will topple only with enough force to topple the whole stand, in which case, you should avoid stands altogether-Their footprint is slightly smaller than the older stands for Gen 1 speakers-Cable trunking is great, can easily hide the power and ethernet cable-These are very good value when compared to other Sonos stands on the market, about half price-Ignore negative reviews to the contrary

Sways when speaker in place
I don’t find this stand to be very stable and there is a considerable movement between the main pole/leg and base.
