Honey-Can-Do Space-Saving, Over-The-Door Collapsible Hanger Holder, Chrome HNG-01519 Chrome

Recently re-did our laundry room after water leak. We replaced our old clothes rack with a tall shelving unit which was a much better use of space, but we lost our spot for hanging clothes. Tried several other collapsible wall units, telescoping hangar rod etc. this one is perfect. It goes over the door and can barely be seen from outside the laundry room, as the over-door bracket is smaller outside than in. I really like that ... nearly invisible. Also it has plenty of space - 10 hangar spots is quite a lot, particularly considering we don’t need it all the time, just when hang-drying a few items. It is surprisingly sturdy, doesn’t shift or knock around when the door is opened or closed. It is equally solid while in use (hangars are sturdy, not wobbly when you open and close the door). When it’s down and not in use, it is sturdy, silent, stays in place - not rattly or clangy when door is opened or closed. We’ve actually had it for a week or so, down and silent, and it completely startled our young adult daughter when she opened the laundry room and it was in use. Even though she’s been in the room since we got it, it really is unobtrusive. Highly recommend

I’m obsessed with this thing! It might be my favorite Amazon purchase this year! I live in an apartment so I don’t have space to set up a big drying rack. I was hanging clothes on my shower rod but I didn’t like doing that and I wanted them to get the sun that came into my bedroom. This little gadget is great! It folds down so I can store it in my closet without it taking up space, and then I just take it out and put it on my closet door. Fits all the clothes I usually hang dry and is nice and sturdy. It isn’t an eyesore, and doesn’t get in my way. My closet door is one that doesn’t allow me to close the door with this on it BUT I don’t need it to. If you have a door with more space around the frame you’ll be fine. I can close my door almost all the way and so it doesn’t bother me but something to consider if you are looking to close a door completely.

Very happy with this. I had used one just like this for the last 20+ years in my utility room door (for doing laundry every week). I also had the habit of hanging my clothes on my closet door for work the next day. Unfortunately, the hangers began damaging the top of my closet door, especially when I accidentally tried to close the door while a hanger was still there.Then I had an aha moment! Use an over the door hanger on my closet door. So I ordered this one, and I'm very pleased! It is almost exactly like the one I've been using in my utility room for the last 2+ decades.I love that I can hang my clothes on the door hanger to help me mix and match pieces. Then I can close the closet door like normal and it's all hidden away except a little silver colored bar at the top. I can either leave the hanger fully open to allow damp clothes finish drying or let the hanger fold down to save space (not sure why I'd need that, but it's nice that I have the option).I just hope this one lasts as long as my other one has lasted. Given all the possible options, this design is the most flexible. I can hang clothes inside the holes or on top of the rod. I can keep the rod in the horizontal position or pull it downward. I can hang a ton of clothes on it for mixing and matching and still close the door to hide it all away.I'm very happy with this hanger. I recommend it highly!

I have three of these and use them for my gentle-wash hang-dry laundry. Clothes dry evenly without wrinkles or shrinkage, which is exactly what I needed. The over-the-door hangers are very easy to use and I don't have to take up the shower curtain bar with the laundry. However, the door only closes if a. there is a bit of a loose fit between the door and its frame, and b. if the hanger protrudes INTO the closet or room, otherwise it will bump into the door frame. Experiment to find locations that will work for you. This is strong enough to hold wet laundry, one piece per hole, and when not in use, the hanger folds down flat on the door and out of the way. Excellent product!

Absolutely essential in tight spaces! I bought a couple of these about 20 years ago for my 1924 home with minimal closet space. You can use them anywhere: the inside of a closet door so you pull it up and have a whole rack of clothes, then fold it down & close the door. I recently merged two (very small) closets into one and have a dozen of these (staggered) facing each other! You can open and close multiple racks move stuff around, and fit way more in you than you ever thought you could than you ever could having a conventional closet. Or if you’d had it in a conventional closet, it would be so far back you’d never see it again. With this system you can see everything at a glance and if there’s stuff you need to get rid of, just take it to the Salvation Army. The shoe racks are another great Amazon item (you can see through it) that had to be mounted high to save space. It also keeps your shoes clean, because you don’t want to put them back up without wiping them off. The shoes are technically out of reach, but with the handy library kick stand, easy to access from either side of the closet, as you can kick the stand from one end of the closet to the other. We were even able to fit a 24” washer/dryer at one end. Amazing modern solution for a small historic home without hurting its Period design and appeal! I have more and better photos taken from a distance but for some reason the Amazon app can’t access them.
