I love this book. I really like this entire series. I like them so much I have purchases 6 of the flute music. My favorite is the Christmas one. I like how size of the music making it easy to read and the songs are beautiful when playing.

I have a good friend whose daughter has taken up flute in middle school. After about a year of her playing, I asked her mother for a gift idea for Christmas. As a musician myself, I wanted to get her something that could further her playing, and her mother suggested this book. I liked the idea because young musicians are often encouraged by learning to play familiar melodies, and pop music can be a cool thing to learn and feel accomplished and successful. I gave this book to her daughter, and, after a couple of months, received reports from her mother that she had been playing quite a bit out of it. Even better, her mother (a former flutist herself) could overhear these songs and recognize when her daughter made some mistakes. That would allow her to coach her daughter a bit herself during practice sessions.Overall, a successful gift!

I gave the 101 Hit Songs for Flute book as a holiday gift to a 13-year-old along with a metronome, and it was a big hit! The song selection is great, ranging from older classics to newer hits, providing a nice variety that keeps things interesting. The music is well-balanced—neither too easy nor too hard—making it perfect for someone looking to improve their skills. She was really excited to get started and can’t wait to play more. The book arrived on time and in good condition, though since it’s softcover, the packaging could be important to prevent bending. All in all, a wonderful gift for any young flutist!

I bought this for a high school freshman because it wasn't absolute beginner level like an instructional book, but wasn't extremely challenging like something she might have to start to work on for solo and ensemble contest. Also, I believe there are some songs in there she will recognize and her parents will recognize and that can lead to positive feedback and the desire to play more.

I love listening my granddaughter practice new songs on her flute other than what she plays in band. and she enjoys learning new songs as well.
