I bought this metal detector for my dad. He is retired and needed a hobby to keep his mind occupied. He likes going treasure hunting and so far he has no issues with it. Easy to use and assembled.

There is a definite learning curve to these devices. It is a well made machine for beginners. Watch the videos over and over is the best way to learn.

I waited a couple of months after use to be able to write a honest review. I purchased this for my husband to carry to the beach. We have not gotten the chance to carry it there yet, but it has come in handy on finding our property line corner pins in our HOA subdivision. The survey we had done made the property line look further over and at an angle according to our neighbor. We used the metal detector to locate the pins and found that the survey was accurate and that one of the neighbor's irrigations heads are on our property. We are building a detached garage and putting up a fence.You have to fine tune this to the different metals. If you have all the metals around your house it is no issue. We are still getting use to it but are loving it. We did have trouble finding where to pull in the headphones, but finally found it. Overall this metal detector is a great non-expensive beginner's detector. It is enough for us to have our fun with. Now to keep the husband from digging holes everywhere in our backyard when it detects metals may be a never-ending task. I'm just glad he loves it.

I recently purchased this metal detector due to my activities in the backyard, where small items like screws or other metal tend to get lost in the grass and pose a hazard to children. This metal detector has proven to be incredibly effective! I successfully located not just those screws but even some scrap metal hidden beneath the dirt. Additionally, my husband and I had a great time playing a treasure hunt game by hiding coins for each other to find to test this metal detector. We had so much fun with it! My husband, who can fix about anything was so excited to go out with out daughter to our popular beach area and try it. Actually a Christmas gift for her along with a couple other things I bought like a hand held. So the two finally went out to the beach....three hours they walked around with this thing and not once did it go off. Not even a bottle cap! So, my husband decided to try it on his gold coin...nope, nada, nothing! THEN, playing around, they pointed it to the sky. SURE ENOUGH, it started to make noise THEN!CRAZY....don't waste your money!!!!!

As a newbie my husband has had a difficult time getting to know how to use this metal detector. It seems like good quality for the price and comes with all you may need, I think he wishes it came with a small piece of various metals for testing and adjusting to the sounds.
