I was hesitant to get this punch needle as some of the reviews said it was rough inside the wooden handle. I have not found that to be the case at all, I am working with really thin yarn and it runs smooth through the whole thing. The adjustable needle screw holds the needle really well and does not slip even when you are punching. I would recommend this only for people who already know how to punch needle or who are ok looking up instructions on how to as it does not come with any. Overall very happy with my purchase!

I wanted to try punch needling after taking a rug tufting class, so I ordered this kit. It's definitely usable and a good budget option, but after trial and error it just has a couple of minor flaws:-When inserting the metal tube into the handle, you have the ability to make the "loop" of thread on the back any length you want, but as a beginner I didn't really know how it would affect my design. I learned that if you make it too short and don't have the right amount of tension on your base, your loops will not stay in. If you accidentally unscrew it from the handle, there's really no way to know if the loops will be the same length as the ones you originally started with.-The inside is not completely sanded smooth, which causes fibers from the yarn to get stuck in it. It doesn't really affect the process of when you're punch needling, but it does make it slightly more difficult to thread through a new piece of yarn. It also causes the yarn to separate slightly, but it doesn't really affect the final look of my pieces.-Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if it came with a case for storage/organization since it has a lot of smallish pieces.I will probably end up investing in a higher quality one eventually, but for now I owe my thanks to this set for helping me discover my love for punch needling!

I like the quality of these needles.

I got the kit "Nurge Premium Quality Punch Needle Kit, 3mm-4mm-5mm,1.2 mm - 1.6 mm - 2.2 mm" and the thread gets stuck in the large wooden handle, it is not well polished, but the small one works very well. In the end I returned it, I couldn't work with that kit.

The tool itself is great, but my yarn was getting caught on rough wood inside tube. My son had a dremel and was able to smooth some of the rough spots inside. Couldn’t get in all the was so still a little rough inside.
