Sacred Solos for the Flute Volume 1 Paperback – August 16, 2016

I bought this to replace the copy I had bought years ago. My previous copy had the flute and piano parts bound separately, and this one has them bound together, which means you have to make photocopies if you're going to play with a pianist. The binding itself is worse as well, and no longer lays flat. The cover quality is much thinner. I'm pretty disappointed with the changes made.

This book is full of lots of wonderful flute solos - I bought a copy years ago and wanted to replace the well worn book and yellowed pages. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating was the fact that the book now has bound everything together (the original had a pull out section for the flute) and although you have permission to copy the pages, having an individual booklet for the flute is much better.

I missed having the CD that used to accompany this book, I had it many yrs ago, but it was a beautiful publication

Very glad to find this as a replacement. This is out of print, otherwise. Nice for intermediate flautists.

I like the selections and the arrangements (simple)! The only problem is that the CD track numbers are not given, so you'll have to write them in yourself.

I didn't understand that this was clasical music. It was not exactly what I was looking for. However, I liked the songs and the CD piano and organ accompaniments.

I have been looking for this type of music and I am enjoying practicing so much that I have to make an effort to stop playing and get other things done!

We give Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of this Series a 5-star rating!! These books were recommended to us when my daughter was an aspiring 9th grade flutist. She is now a Flute Performance major at University and both of these books are kept as important elements of her musical library. The music is great for weddings, as well as funerals; church specials, as well as concert pieces. We recommend both volumes (although book ONE is the fav! :)
