The only thing that works here in AZ
Tried a few different things and this is the only thing that actually works. I went from getting three+ bites a night sitting inside my own home (they're really out there hunting me; my roommate spends all her time outside and they bypass her to eat at me) to not even seeing mosquitoes inside my house at all. I know my house is small, which undoubtedly helps, but the outlet it's plugged into is in the middle of the house so that it's next to where I usually sit, not at the door where I thought they'd be coming in from. Truly a lifesaver, for me.It also lasts a lot longer than 6 hours (again, small home advantages, I suppose). Once I notice that the pad is white I flip it over because the underside is usually still blue. Then you can smell the scent again. This won't last as long as the first side and you won't see this side go white but it does give an extra 2-3 hours. This is how it works for me, anyway. Some of the other reviews mention it running out of effectiveness quickly because they're outside or presumably otherwise using it for larger areas. Since my home is small, it takes awhile for it to dissipate once in the air so it takes less for it to maintain itself. My only concern is health side effects from breathing it in. I have no idea what it's made of since no ingredients are listed and as we all know, other activities that used to be thought of to be safe or even healthy ended up being terrible for one's health.

Works perfectly!
I have tried expensive mosquito plugs including electric ones that costed 80 dollars. These simple mosquito repellents work way better than all the fancy ones, no complaints. I would recommend it 100%!

Downright unsafe
This product heats up to an unsafe temperature and is a definite hazard for anyone to touch it . If you choose to use it on the lower outlet if you brushed up against it, you would likely get a burn. Don’t even see how this is on the market.

Great Product
I purchased two different mosquito repellents at the same time and found that this one is much more compact and easy to use. The design is small and very efficient. While the 20-foot protection zone is effective for smaller rooms or targeted areas, larger spaces might require multiple units for complete coverage. I found one unit sufficient for my bedroom but needed an additional one for the living room.

I tested all the devices. Here are my results
I'm a human mosquito magnet, my friends will be untouched while I get 20 bites in 2 minutes. So I have tested everything under the sun, and here are some of my results:These portable devices (with pads or bottle of liquid) use Meperfluthrin.I find Meperfluthrin to be fairly effective, though no 100%. It doesn't create a barrier so much as it confuses the mosquitos. They'll zoom around but not land. The pads on these are universal, all the devices (Thermacell, Q5, Flextail, etc) all use the same style pads. You can recharge the pads yourself - either with essential oils (geraniol, citronella, lemon eucalyptus), or with a bottle of Meperfluthrin. However, there is a limited number of times you can re-use the pads. There are three styles of devices that take the pads - plug-in (like this one), USB powered, or cordless/battery powered. The USB are my least favorite (they don't get as hot, and they can power down without notice). The battery powered are my most favorite - for convenience, but also because they tend to get hottest and repel the best. It's not a huge difference, though.I liked all the battery powered devices I tried (Thermacell, Q5, Flextail, Moskiller), but Flextail was my favorite.Flextail has more features - it accepts two pads, gets hotter, the battery lasts longer, and it has a built-in lantern. However, NONE of the Meperfluthrin devices were 100%. If you're just looking for moderate protection, they're fine. But I'm looking for 100% protection, and I still get a couple bites, regardless of device. So I use multiple methods, and I always use DEET-free options.I'll mix my own bug spray and fogger with essential oils (coconut oil as a base oil).I'll use mosquito coils, tiki torches, and citronella candles. And, I'll use DEET-free bug sprays (favorites are Coleman Skinsmart, Repel Picaridin, and Sawyer Picaridin).I find that no single method works 100% (even the DEET-free sprays, they'll find a place to bite, like the top of my head or behind my ears). But if I combine 2 or 3 of the above methods, then I can achieve 99-100% protection.
