Wasn't sure if it was going to be tough enough to get the job done as my dog had lots of knots and clumps. My dog has a lot of hair. For the price and reviews I bought this one and it is awesome! It works great and didn't take long to get the job done using the highest speed option. It comes with an extra blade which is a plus. Only negative was that the oil bottle came empty but luckily we had some extra at home. I do believe this is a great product.

Works great out of the box. Not sure about the longevity of this, but my Havanese was seriously overgrown and matted. I was embarrassed to take him to a groomer. This thing sliced through the mats like they were nothing. He is happier, he smells better, and now, I'm probably going to take him to a groomer and I'll just tell them I tried to do it myself because I didn't do a good job of making it even. That's way less embarrassing.

Im trying to shear a maltese. Keeps clogging up, wont cut. You couldnt shear a sheep in a week. Plastic cutting blade? Cuts great without guards. Frustrated dissappointed.

The power button is too close to where you hold it and it keeps turning off. It does not work any better than any other trimmer regardless of brand. The person who review saying this trimmer saved her from all day to less than one hour is not being honest. It is made of wood and metal and feels sturdy. The cord is long enough with a variable control at the plug end. However, it's highest speed is normal speed for any trimmer and when do you need less speed? The oil bottle was empty and never had oil in it. There are only four guards. The case actually has hinges not just a plastic seem holding the lid to the base of the latched box. They need the power switch on the plug end with the speed knob or at the top of the handle where the power cord comes out. It keeps getting bumped and turned off where it is. It's a push button switch too easy to accidentally push and turn off.
