Great boom!
As others have said, it's a quality boom.... If for no other reason than it stays secure when you tighten it. Other booms I've gotten just don't seem to be able to do that.I'm very happy!

Only Stands I use
K&M stands are sturdy, well engineered and reliable. I have some that are years old and still function perfectly. One cannot say they are light weight, hence my lack of rating that functionality, but that's not a bad thing booms need weight to function properly. My keyboard stand is also from K&M. Just cannot go wrong with German engineering.

Perfect boom arm
Beautifully built for pianist/vocalist; just the right size. Sturdily built and threads easily on standard mic stand.

Well made, but I dislike the main tightener.
K&M is as good as it gets. I have all sorts of there stuff in my pro studio. However, I sure wish this boom used their thin, chromed metal tightener for the angle adjustment. (The one that slides back & forth as needed, when in use, and is found on a different K&M boom.) For me, that is FAR superior to the fixed "black oval" tightener used on this boom.I really HATE this tightener, and will be looking online to see if I can find a retrofit piece closer to the type I like.WHY, K&M, WHY ? - At least sell the other tightener as a separate part !

Good purchase
I’ve been using a gooseneck mic mount for … ohhhhh … 40 years, but with the need for iPads and external power sources (in case the iPad battery dies), I wanted to change to a boom mic stand. This was a more expensive choice, but I’m glad I got it. Sturdy, well-built, able to extend in a couple different ways. Exactly what I needed.I wish the counterweights for boom stands weren’t so damned expensive (roughly $30-33 for a counterweight that is mounted on the back of the boom arm). I opted to tackle that issue in another way: Bought a used 11-pound barbell weight ($11) from a used sporting goods store, and slipped it over the mic stand, resting on top of the circular base (I prefer the circular, heavy bases to the tripod bases, which take up too much space on the smallish stages that I occasionally play on).

This is absolutely the best boom stand I've ever used
This is absolutely the best boom stand I've ever used, and I've owned a lot of brands over the years. The knobs tighten easily, and stay put for years in a semi-permanent setup . This stand is a little shorter than the classic boom, which makes it good for keyboard rigs, or adding to a guitarist's stand. (A collapsible stand plus a short boom is just about the ideal configuration for most musician needs.) It has thinner tubes than some of the competition, meaning that it will tend to disappear on stage a little better. I own eight of these booms.
