Fun and Delicious
I wasn't going to write a review, but I read one customer's account who missed the point so badly that I am prompted to contribute.First, the bottle: It comes with a tearaway film wrapper at the top with a very well-designed tab and perforation that comes away cleanly. The purpose of the wrapper is to hold in place a soft plastic cap that rests atop the bottle. Inside this cap is a plastic stopper. With a little experimentation, I found it easiest to pop the stopper out of the cap (it's perforated for this purpose) and then place the narrow end of the plastic stopper over the glass marble that seals the bottle; then, place the palm of my hand over the stopper and push down firmly. Voila! the marble drops down inside, unsealing the bottle. Think about it: this is a carbonated beverage sold in glass bottles that does not need a separate tool to pop the cap, and no plastic comes in contact with the drink. It's ingenious.Secondly, the marble functions to prevent guzzling. It remains inside the neck of the bottle and doles out kid-sized sips. Marvelous. (Or should I say marble-ous?) Furthermore, the neck of the bottle is shaped with a pair of off-center indentations that serve a secondary purpose: hold the bottle one way and when you tip to drink, the marble is free to roll down and close off the opening. But, suppose you want to pour the soda into a glass to drink over ice? The marble would be frustrating... but, rotate the bottle 180 degrees and the marble is trapped by the glass indentations in the neck of the bottle, allowing you to easily pour out the contents. As for the drink, itself: the taste is sweet but not cloyingly so, as with most American sodas sweetened with loads of high-fructose corn syrup. The flavors come through remarkably well, instead of just tasting like sugar water, and there's a good amount of fizz. The bubbles seem smaller and more dispersed than American sodas, contributing to a pleasurable, creamy mouth-feel.200 ml, 80 calories, 19 grams of total carbs, 17 grams of added sugars.

Gift
My son loves Japanese culture and he was very pleased with this. He says they taste great but he already knew the trick to using the marble. Very cool!

Kids love these!
The kids were fascinated and thrilled by this treat! Very clever packaging, so that it's like a drink and a puzzle. Probably not great healthwise, but I'm their grandmother, so adding fun and excitement to their lives is my job.
