Love that they are one solid stick.

If you are looking to boldly mark your driveway with large vibrant-colored markers, these are not for you! These are just 36 inches high (so figure 30-32" after you drive them into the ground, dark green in color (which blends in with everything around our house), and a sharp reflective white band near the top. I wanted something more subtle, though easy enough to see at night and through the snowdrifts. We recently received nearly two feet of snow and just the tops are sticking out now, but once you get the path cleared, you don't really need to see the markers anymore as you can clearly see where it was last plowed.One of the kids hit a marker that was frozen into the ground and it did cause a break in the fiberglass. It will need to be cut and sharpened to re-use or we will just replace next year. They're not terribly expensive, so replacing one here or there isn't that big of a deal. A snowplow or even a snowblower going over a bit of landscaping can cause a lot of unnecessary damage. These markers have been an inexpensive solution to that problem.

Some of the poles are rough with unfinished spots instead of having a smooth finish. The first two I installed were fine, but I gained a handful of fiberglass splinters on the third one. I took a star off for that reason. They are easy to install and work as designed and look like they will hold up for a good while. I used them to mark a driveway near a pond. I also use them to mark my trees and things in the yard so dear husband, who is oblivious to them, doesn't run them down with the mower. Rose bushes will only come back so many times. Mine came back 12 times before it decided it wasn't worth the effort. Ha Ha! I'm still sad about my young lilac bushes. He says he can really see these markers, so we will see if the new plantings are safer. I also have very new drivers so I marked some things to make sure they don't back into them.

This works very well for us to delineate our front yard from the road we live alongside of. This being single piece makes it easy to pull out and put back in place when mowing, a very important feature for us.

The markers arrived in good shape - and quickly. However, two things impress me about them. One - the problem with splinters you can't see is very REAL. I handled the markers for less than half a minute with my bare hands, and I was not being careless, simply unwrapping the plastic that they were wrapped in, with a pair of scissors, and I immediately felt the splinters in my left hand between my thumb and first finger. Not pleasant. With gloves, you can avoid this. Two - the reflectivity of the white tape on them is just plain poor. They do not stand out -- they are hard to see -- at night when you turn your lamppost on. Bottom line: I will use them this winter, but I don't care for them much at all. I perceive them as dangerous and substandard. Plus, there are better products available. In my opinion, the micro-splinter problem is a serious flaw that will cause other users to suffer unnecessary pain and hardship. That's not how it's supposed to be with something as simple as driveway markers, and the supposed flexibility is not worth this problem. I don't even want my dog to sniff these markers.
