It’s forged to last and it’s incredible
This is very beautiful well hand forged blade. The Damascus is real as could be and you can tell it’s hand forged because with mine, if I look down the blade, it’s a lil uneven, but otherwise this blade cuts! Like very well. The handle is well built and beautifully polished. The blade arrives fully oiled I guess you could say. It helps preserve the blade. I made the mistake of touching the blade which now I must use oil to clean the blade here and there. Damascus takes a lil bit to maintain and keep clean but well worth it. In my opinion, it feels very well balanced. I was very skeptical about buying this but it arrived wrapped in multiple boxes and the sword comes in a leather sheathe. The sheathe is no joke. It’s well built, beautiful and can handle being worn around a bit. This is by far the best blade I’ve bought to date. You can feel the time that went into the blade. The blacksmith that made this put a lot of work into it. Would recommend a case of some kind though to help protect the blade because like I said earlier, Damascus can take a lil to maintain. If it’s exposed to high temps or moisture it WILL start to get a faint layer of “rust”. It’s cleans off easily. Definitely look up how to properly clean Damascus. Overall, AMAZING blade and highly recommend!

Beautiful functional sword.
It's a very nice sword. It's not a real Damascus sword in the sense that no one actually knows how to make the true stuff, but it's a beautiful pattern weld and holds a good sharp edge.I used a 600 grit ceramic did to sharpen mine and finished it off with my Henkels diamond steel. It slices through sheets of paper with little effort, and can stab through a card box 6 plies thick, with little pressure. The edge is tough, not Cold Stella 1055 tough, but tough enough that it doesn't knick or dull when I chop branches off of trees with it. It's a decent usable sword that is just a beautiful show piece. The pommel and guard are pattern welded as well, and the finish on the handle is beautiful.Be aware that this seller makes many different blade styles and handle configurations. This sword is short and similar to a gladius. It's a great short sword, and an excellent back up or parry weapon. It's also a nice dress sword for costume and stage work. I have had it for only a week or so, and have worn it twice for performances.

Fine weapon definitely not just a show piece
There was a review written that the person wasn't entirely satisfied with the scabbard. The scabbard is well constructed leather that fits the blade. The worst that can be said is this. While the sword looks and feels fit for Roman nobility, the scabbard looks plain by comparison. There is nothing wrong with it. I didn't buy a scabbard, I bought a sword and the sword is everything it is advertised. Beautiful pattern welded blade. Sturdy, battle worthy sword. That looks Regal. Now to dispell some false claims. It IS full tang. I can see where the tang is fit into the end plate of the pommel, so it is definitely FULL tang. There are unevenly spaced groves in the edge grind which are the weld pattern of the folded steel so it isn't laser etched. The handle has a dry organic feel so I believe the bone to be bone and not plastic. Subtle imperfections in the blade surface. All these things indicate a hand crafted, folded steel blade.

Generally good sword with tiny flaws
Off the bat, I am no expert when it comes to types of steel. I couldn't say whether this is a stellar reproduction of damascus steel or not. I tend to judge blades based on how they feel. That being said, this is a pretty good sword for the price with only a few flaws present to the eyeThe blade itself has an eye catching design and feels sturdy and sharp to the touch. The tip, however, appears to be the only problem on the one sent to me, as I could see a tiny gap where i assume the steel was folded over and hammered together. Despite this, the blade was still able to run through the box it came in with relative ease. The handle is suitable for the blade and I could find no trouble beyond the fact that the sword seems slightly heavy in the hand. The sheath itself is also good and feels like sturdy stacked leather. I don't envision ever using the shoulder strap that came with it, but it is nice to have that option.Overall, I would definitely buy this sword for the price advertised.

Not Disappoint but Not Amazed Either. You get what you pay for.
You definitely get what you pay for. The blade is crooked and the handle is chipped. The scabbard is of low quality but, as a leather worker, I can make a new one. Other than that, it is a nice weapon with a decent weight. I am not disappointed but not exactly over the moon excited either.

Description is a complete lie.
This is a nice sword but has lasered Damascus so it is not a true Damascus sword. The handle is not bone and mine was chipped you can tell this is not handmade at all and is all factory done they charge to much for a piece that is so falsely advertised yes it is sharp but it has Damascus design and wooden and a chemical hadle. This product makes me feel lied to because of how it was described. If u want a true Damascus sword this is not it and this is not a fictional sword because the hadle is to small and does not allow for the needed hand movements for a proper swing if this was used you would not be able to use it for long

An awesome sword for a great price
This is a very welfare and high quality sword that has held up in actual combat. I have had this sword in several events where we reenact Norse raids and thsi was one among 3 others that was able to last throughout the entire event. The grip is great and the balance is enough to the point where I can feel no resistance when changing direction but I can physically see that the top is a bit the right on the flat edges and doesn’t quite flow like the left side does. This is a great sword if you are into re-enactments or plays; through I’d guard the edges with rubber guards because even after a beating you’ll need to be careful around people. If you like quantity and durability then this is a great product to buy.
