Is the security bracket on the 7.5 inch side? Or the shorter 7.25?

Yes You can I attached this to a 3" flexible hose, I didn't have the adapter, but I used duck tape surround the joint, It works good !

The description says it is 1 sone. 1 sone is about 28 decibels

Is the plastic cover removable to help with cleaning unit?
