Yes. That is the exact reason I bought this for my husband and it has worked great this boating season.

Q: Can this be used on a kayak?

Good question It depends on the kayak that you have. Mine have small cockpit so clamping it to the rim would get in my way getting in and out. I also use a WW spray deck that would also be in the way. However if you have a large opening you might be able to clamp it to the rim. Other wise you could mount a round piece of tubing across your under the cockpit with SS screws to hold it in place. Would I clamp it to the paddle no it would ad to much weight and get in the way of your stroke. Good luck Happy Paddling.

Q: can i put a yeti 30 oz cup on it?

I have a 20 oz and it fits fine. I would worry a 30 oz would be top heavy
