I would not recommend a child sleeping in the sensory sack as it’s not the intended purpose. It can be slippery and the child could slide off of bed and get hurt.

Medium should work, my child is about that tall

Is this machine-washable?

It’s very stretchy, so I have only ever washed by hand. But if I was going to machine wash it, I would place it in a laundry mesh to minimize stretch and damage. In addition, I would put it on a gentler cycle and maybe hang dry or only dry briefly in the dryer on a low cycle.
