Amazing video and more player
I bought 2 of these players 3 months ago. No problems so far.My wife loves her player. She watches music videos (converted from .flv format to .mpeg using the Freecorder program). I also use it for videos and also mp3's and .txt files I have for song charts. It only displays .txt files, not pdf or doc files. The mpeg video files always play but only some of the mp4 video files play, I don't know why. Now I just convert everything to mpeg and have no problems. I use it at the gym with Etymotic MC5 earphones Etymotic Research MC5 Noise Isolating In-Ear Earphones (Red) which cut out all the gym music and noise.Transferring files is simple drag and drop. You drag the files to the main memory and I guess the player figures out what the file is because music files only show up when you press the music icon, likewise with the video and txt files. The 3.6" screen is bright and clear. The battery lasts for several hours without charging. An excellent product for only $29.95. As usual it was shipped quickly and free using Amazon's super saver shipping.

cool MP3/ video player
I bought this MP3/Video player for my 11 year old daughter and after several weeks it is still working great. It is pretty simple to use and you can add songs and videos easily by dragging and dropping them. You do not have to use a disc to install any programs so this is really simple. You just plug it into your computer with a usb cord and you are ready to go. I had to download a free video converter software from download.com and it took me a few tries to figure out that youtube videos need to be converted to AVI format to work on this player. The videos that I converted and uploaded to the Sylvania MP3/Video player look very sharp...I am pretty impressed with the video quality considering the low cost of this player. As others have mentioned in their reviews you do have to tap the screen multiple times sometimes to get the touch screen to respond but this is not a big deal. So far my daughter loves this player.

Read David Anderson's review
I've had this player for about a year now. Before you buy it, make sure you read David Anderson's review as the player doesn't come with any kind of decent instructions. He pretty much answers all the questions I had before buying. The good stuff: It works, as I said I've had it about a year now and it's still going strong, holds a charge well. I use it about 2 1/2 hours a day, and only charge it once or twice a week. It's a decent size. The screen is large enough to watch videos on comfortably without pressing it up to your face. The space is good and the micro sd slot is nice to easily switch out music/videos. The casing is really nice. It has a rubberized feel which makes it easy to hold. It's a tough little thing. I've given it to my 2 year old son to watch videos on and he's litterally thrown it on the ground many many many times. :)The bad stuff: The external speaker is very weak. You really only hear it if you turn it up to max volume and there is no other noise in the room. The touch screen could be better. In the last month I've noticed the touch screen screen respons is starting to get weaker. You really have to push hard on the thing to get it to respond. Especially if what you are trying to push is near the edge of the screen. It's a pain, but for the price I paid I don't expect it to be amazing. (The touch screen problem could possibly be from my son's abuse!)Other stuff to note: The sd card slot has worked for me with 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB micro SD and micro SDHC cards. I haven't tried anything bigger than 8GB yet. All my cards are kingston brand, I've never tried anything else. You also have to use the edge of your fingernail or a toothpick or something to get the card seated. At first I thought mine was broken, but it's just that you have to really push it up in the player to get it in. I've seen a lot of complaints about charging... I've noticed that when you charge it, it must be plugged directly to your computer or to an outlet if you have a wall adapter. If you try to charge it through some sort of USB hub, it won't charge very well. I've also read complaints about this playing things out of order. It will play them in the order you load the files, not in alpha or numerical order. If you are listening to audiobooks, you'll have to make sure you load the files in the correct order or you'll jump all over the place. (Learned that one the hard way!)Overall I think it really is a great deal for the price. I'd give it 5 if it weren't for the touch screen & speaker issue.

broken
I got this for my son. He liked it at first but it is broken now. Won't turn on at all and screen was freezing up for awhile before it completely stopped working. We had to use the tiny reset button a few times. All the music on it I thought would be on the sd card but it wasn't, which is fine, we'll get a new one, but I am having a hard time deciding which one. He liked the 4.3 inch screen and I liked the no internet, so here I go searching for something with no bad reviews which is a challenge. At least no reviews like this one where the device is completely broken after the warranty is up. Might as well just buy an expensive one as opposed to getting 2 or 3 of these 'prone to breaking' ones every year. What a pain. And another thing is that I also got a pink one for my daughter which works still but she hardly ever is using it. Hers she doesn't use unless its plugged into the wall. It won't stay charged for her for more than a minute if its not plugged in. Horrible devices. Save up for a better one.
