Brookstone Towel Warmer

I was really on the fence about buying this given the mixed reviews. However I decided to give it a go as there don't seem to be other comparable bin-style towel warmers.I was prepared for the initial smell based upon other reviewers' comments (thank you for that!). It smells like a new heating unit for about the first week. Now, however, after using it daily for a month, it does not smell.The towel warmer has a nice capacity and fits one large bath towel easily. Since it heats from the outside, it is best to drop in an unfolded towel loosely and it does a nice job of warming the whole towel. You can also warm a bath robe, or anything else that you want that fresh out of the dryer feeling.The warmer warms up very quickly. It has a auto shut off as well as a warning light so that you know that it is hot that stays on for a bit until it cools down.My usage involves throwing a towel in and turning it on a few minutes before I am about to take a shower. By the time I get out, it is perfect and warm.I will update this review over time on my experience to share with others both if it continues to work well or if I run into any problems.12/21/16 - I've now been using this towel warmer for almost 6 months. Still works well.6/1/17 - Have been using this towel warmer every day for almost a year. Works great and still love it!

We have small dogs who like their little fleece jackets to be warmed up in the morning, and we toss the items in the Brookstone towel warmer for a few minutes and PRESTO! happy warm dogs going out to walk on cold winter mornings!The product is easy to use - just plug it in.Compared to other towel warmers out there, I would pick this one every time... and the price is fantastic!

i bought this for my wife a christmas gift and we both love it. it heats up our giant beach towels with ease and keeps them nice and toasty for when we get out of the hot tub (which we get in literally on a nightly basis!). the ONLY reason i gave this 4 stars is the time. we like to stay in a good 30 sometimes 45 minutes at a time especially on a cold night but by the time we get out we can tell the warmer has started to cool off. it would be really nice if you could set it on a timer to come on like a coffee maker.as for the smell... we ran ours four times during the day (christmas day when i gave it to my wife), let it heat up and cool down completely with the lid off. yes at first there was an odor but after the third time the odor went away. we also started putting a fresh dryer sheet in every few times we use it and we get that fresh dryer scent with the warmness!

I ordered on of these for my wife, and it worked well for a few weeks. Then, for no apparent reason, half of it stopped heating so we'd end up with half warm, half room temperature towels. Brookstone replaced that one last spring. As the weather had gotten warmer I didn't plug the new one in until recently, and right from the start only half of it warms up. I am well passed the 90 day warranty, but will contact them again. I suspect it must be a common issue.Brookstone responded right away and offered to replace it. Hopefully the next one works, but I do appreciate them standing behind the product.Update, the replacement one doesn't work either. Only half of it heats up. How are they still selling this product? It can't be a fluke that I've received three that don't work. I find it hard to believe I've been that unlucky, it must be a low quality item. If I ever get one that works, I'll edit my review again.On the plus side, Brookstone has been easy to work with. Hopefully that continues.

I was really confused when I was shopping for a towel warmer for my wife. The reviews were so mixed and I was actually very nervous about ordering one. I ordered this one against my better judgment because of reviews. I was wrong. We have had it for a month. It works perfect, there was no odd odor. You put your towel in, take a shower and the towel is toasty when you are ready. It looks nice sitting on the bathroom, almost like a cloths hamper.

I was very reluctant to buy this towel warmer mainly because of all the odor comments. Either the company has made vast improvements on the main compartments lining or I hit on a good methodology to prep it because I don't have the odor issue at all. My wife is extremely sensitive to odors and has respiratory issues related to them. Upon unpacking the warmer, I ran it through three cycles and wiped it down between each one with a dryer sheet soaked in a common disinfectant type counter top cleaner. You better use a oven type mitten or it will burn you. By the fourth cycle the odor was next to nothing and I continued two more cycles and then put it straight into use. No odors stronger than the ones of the towels straight out of the clothes dryer

I am in long term care. I need to warm towels every evening to wrap around my legs and it works perfect. But then as an extra treat I can have warm towels for after my shower. Someone teased me about living like a princess.

Works great, only downfall is uneven heat throughout the unit but that's just being picky. Overall very pleased and would recommend.
