Super Product! Admittedly getting ‘wrapped around the axle’ occasionally in research. So frankly here, spec’ing out trekking poles. A bunch! Particularly seeking adjustable height models. More than a few quality products on market. Personally settling on alloy (versus carbon) for arguably better strength; perhaps more truthfully, comfort zone factors. Whatever!Positives of this pole. Beyond all, amazing length of adjustment from 115cm to 150cm; about 45 to 59 inches of utilizable height! Second perhaps, returning to comfort zone, Komperdell well known, long established European brand. Pole made in Austria! Kudos for ‘ up-front’ with all specs, particularly as here: 18mm outer/16mm inner; exterior diameter tubes. Both highest typical quality 7075 aluminum alloy. Again. confidence inspiring! Quite decent good-sized handgrips with especially nice long “choke” grip areas below. Such particularly useful feature considering pole length capability! Long positive grasping area! Finally… Weight, not to be forgotten. Amazingly lightweight! Doubt this factor to disappoint anyone!Downsides. The unavoidable one, possible deal killer for some. Collapsed length. 87cm, almost three feet long. Definitely not small pack or presumably flight carryon transportable. Yet falling in the category of simply can’t have everything! For me, and perhaps some others, the aesthetic ‘down’… Color! Very green! Not to my taste, but too many positives meeting; moreover exceeding my requirements to be any serious purchase impediment!Finally, necessary disclosure. This product in my hands not for skiing or trekking. Rather, “accommodation”. Age/injury disability. More than a cane, less than a walker! My evaluation here predicated upon, as noted ‘tech specs’, recent ‘hands on’ subsequent to recent purchase. Inspection and brief ‘road test’. Yet entire context offered here, harkening back some years typical use hiking. So, eval this eval in such context. Just highly impressed low mileage user!
