Marketing Psychology for Product Managers- kind of a must read
[book:The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing: Violate Them at Your Own Risk|33449]Marketing Products and GTM(Go to Market Strategy) are topics among themselves. There are quite some books written on these topics and the books by AL Ries are definitely must reads.I would recommend reading the book "Positioning" by the same author AL Ries before this one, Positioning, this book and 22 Immutable laws of branding are all in the same league giving the same ideas in different ways. Once you read Positioning you can read this book to tag names or laws to strategies mentioned in this book. This book plays more on the psychology of marketing, how it works in the minds of the people, argues that being first in a category gives you more advantage than being just better. Gives statistical evidence that Being in customers minds in the ladder such such as first, second and third plays out on the sales of the product.Overall a good read, would say a must read to get a perspective on the flavor of marketing concepts.

Quick , Easy read . Less of jargons , high on take home
The 22 immutable laws should be imbibed in a marketer's thought process especially at the initial stage. Learn from the mistakes made by others. The law of Sacrifice is one which I believe in. Never be Everything for everybody. It's better to sacrifice & stay focused

A good introduction to marketing.
I had no idea about marketing; and this small book has taught me some basic principles of marketing. As the language was plain, I did not have any trouble in assimilating the ideas.

Hard Truths spill over the Age old Myths.
Kudos to Al Aries & Jack Trout for busting the myths of marketing. The 22 laws will often be muted within the board rooms, bulldozed by the marketing chiefs but marketers need to remember that ultimately what prevails over these short term reactions is the deep truth of the market realities, customer behaviour & competition dynamics. This book is just not for an young marketer but also to a seasoned marketing pro. The book is also sharp in its message & provides relevant examples for the reader to relate & connect.
