Fractions in Disguise: A Math Adventure (Charlesbridge Math Adventures) Paperback – March 25, 2014

This is a wonderful math adventure for kids. The storyline is intriguing and interesting. The illustrations are top-notch and highly-detailed. The math is accurate and embedded in every line, every picture. Most importantly, from the story to the illustrations, the whole book makes my kids curious, asking questions, and intrigued, in general. That is wonderful. We really need more books like this on math, sciences to help kids learn from stories.

The story is cute and engaging and it would be fun to have the students model some of the fractions on whiteboards or with fraction manipulatives as we read through the book. My 4th grade class will enjoy this!

Great book for my 11 year old reader! It’s funny, nicely illustrated, and presents math concepts in an entertaining way! Good service, on time, nicely packaged.

It was what I was looking for!

My 10 loved this book! We're a homeschooling family, I read this before our first lesson on fractions and we got to relate the lessons with the book over and over, and I found her reading it on her own several times! It was so much fun for her and she ended up loving fractions and having an easy time with it since I made it fun, that's coming from a neurodivergent girl who usually hates math!!

I had no idea how much my 5th graders would love this book. They asked me to read it again and again! They dissected the illustrations, searching for a fraction on each character’s outfit. They called out the equivalent fractions as I read it. Great way to integrate ELA and math.

Fun book to read to my class. They were immediately interested in how equivalent fractions can be disguised. With a little sleuthing, we could figure the problem out. Kudos to the author for a fun approach to fractions.

Brilliant work by the author for making the fraction topic both interesting and topical for young readers. A 1st grader can get interested in the story and even if it plants a fraction seed that can do wonders once they get to the subject in school.
