If you’re looking for a compact, no nonsense red (well, green) dot optic with a built-in rear sight, the ADE RD3-006x Green Dot might surprise you in a good way. It’s not a high end, break-the-bank sight, but for the price, it delivers impressive performance that’s reliable, durable, and easy to use, especially for pistol shooters who want something lightweight but functional. After putting it through its paces at the range and carrying it for a few weeks on my compact carry gun, here’s my honest take.First ImpressionsRight out of the box, the RD3-006x looks sharp. It’s a sleek, low-profile sight with a clean matte finish, and it doesn’t feel cheap. It’s actually pretty solid for its price point aluminum housing, good fit and finish, and the buttons are tactile without being overly stiff. The built in rear sight notch is a thoughtful touch. If you’re like me and appreciate backup irons for co witnessing or just peace of mind in case of battery failure, this is a big win. You won’t need to spend extra on suppressor height sights the notch works surprisingly well when paired with a standard front sight.Installation & MountingThe RD3 006x uses a Doctor/Noblex footprint, which means it fits a decent variety of optics ready pistols or mounts without needing an adapter plate (depending on your slide cut). I mounted it on a Glock 19 MOS using an appropriate plate, and it locked down securely with minimal fuss.Installation took maybe 10 minutes tops two screws, check the fit, zero it in. Everything needed (including tools) came in the box. ADE seems to get that not everyone wants to fiddle with custom tools or proprietary nonsense. The Dot & Glass QualityThe green dot is crisp and easy to pick up, especially in daylight. Compared to red dots, I actually prefer green in brighter environments it’s more visible to the eye and reduces strain a bit when transitioning targets. You can choose from several brightness levels using the side buttons, and the controls are intuitive. The lowest setting works well in low light, while the highest handles sunny outdoor conditions just fine. The glass clarity is better than I expected. Slight bluish tint, sure but nothing that distracts or gets in the way of target acquisition. No warping or noticeable fish eye effect, which you sometimes see in budget optics.Durability & Zero RetentionSo far, the RD3 006x has held zero like a champ. After a few hundred rounds on both 9mm and .40 cal platforms, the dot is still dead on. I even ran a few drop tests on soft ground and bumped it a bit in a holster no shift, no issues. It’s not mil spec bombproof, but for range, EDC, or home defense, I trust it enough to keep it mounted. It’s also shock and recoil resistant, so unless you’re planning on throwing it in combat conditions, it should hold up just fine.Battery Life & Auto ShutoffIt uses a CR2032 battery, which is easy to find and replace. Battery life is rated for thousands of hours on mid settings, and it features auto shutoff after a period of inactivity, which is a huge plus. You can also manually power it down if you prefer. One downside? The battery is bottom mounted, meaning you’ll need to remove the optic to change it. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note if battery swaps are a pain point for you.Price & ValueThis is where the RD3-006x really shines. You’re getting a solid green dot optic with rear sight integration for well under $150, and it punches above its weight in terms of performance. Sure, it’s not a Trijicon RMR or a Holosun 507C, but it also doesn’t come with that kind of price tag.If you’re looking for a budget friendly optic that you can actually train with, carry with, and trust to perform, this is a strong contender.Final ThoughtsThe ADE RD3 006x Green Dot Rear Sight is a great choice for shooters who want simplicity, affordability, and reliability all in one. The green dot is crisp, the built in rear sight is actually usable, and it holds zero well, even on higher recoil calibers. It’s not trying to be a $400 optic and it doesn’t have to be. It’s for the practical shooter who wants functionality without fluff, and it nails that balance. Whether you’re just getting into optics or want a dependable backup sight that won’t break the bank, this one’s definitely worth a look.

5/5 stars, one minor issue for me, easily fixed.
This is a great optic for the money, I would definitely buy this again for a different gun. This optic is better for me than my Vortex Venom on my CZ 97b. The ADE green dot is extremely visible, the on/off button is in the center of the optic, above the barrel, not on the side above the slide serrations like the Vortex Venom. This means it’s really unlikely you’ll turn it on or off unintentionally, no matter how you carry it. This came zeroed perfectly, I matched it with a 9mm bore laser and I didn’t have to touch the elevation or windage screws.I have one minor caveat with this ADE green dot, but it’s tiny and I still give this 5/5 stars. I bought this to stick on my Glock 43x (non-MOS) it comes with a metal baseplate which screws into a mounting insert which sits under that, replacing the rear sight. My only issue is the metal insert which goes into the sight slot was far too large to fit without sanding it. The rear sight can be removed with a sight pusher, but the mounting insert is too low profile to install with the pusher (because the base plate has to screw into it from above and sit flat). So I had to install the insert with hammer and punch, but it was too large for the slot. It went about 25% of the way in and got stuck completely, I had to hammer it back out the opposite way.The insert is kind of triangle shaped with a flat top, I had to sand it on the 2 top two diagonal faces until it was bare metal. I just laid a piece of medium grit sand paper down and rubbed it manually, took like two minutes. You do have to be careful that you don’t take too much off or the base plate with optic will slide out. I had sandpaper, it took a couple of minutes, it fits perfect now, no big deal.So what does the Vortex Venom have for $220 that this doesn’t at $68.99? Not a lot to me. The Vortex and the ADE optic both have adjustable dot brightness settings. The battery cover of the Vortex Venom is on top of the optic, which is the only superior design element it has over the ADE optic. On the ADE you have to use an allen key on two screw which connect to the base plate, and remove the whole optic in order to access the battery (you dont have to remove the base plate or the sight insert.) To me this isn’t a deal breaker, dot optics use so little power and it’s really easy to take the 2 screws out of the base plate. Only other difference between the Vortex Venom and the ADE I’m aware of is the on off button. On the Venom the button is on the side where it can too easily be hit by accident. It’s still easily accessible on the ADE (front face, above barrel) but way less easy to hit by accident.Overall, I give this optic a 5/5 for my needs. The ADE has everything I need, and is literally 1/3rd the price of a Venom. A minor amount of sanding isn’t a big deal for me personally so it’s a nonissue.

Glock 19 Installed
This was my first dot scope on a handgun, so I didn't want to tie up a lot of money in an expensive scope if I didn't like it. I was very impressed by the quality, fit and finish. The only issue I had and the reason for the 3 star for my "easy to install" is because of the mounting hardware provided with the mounting plate. The D1 plate works fine and was easy to install but the screws provided to mount the scope to the mounting plate are way to long. If you try to use these they will drive the mounting plate right off the gun. I'm going to contact ADE and see if they have shorter screws. If not I'll be on the hunt for shorter ones. It won't work as it is so.....plan for that until they correct the problem. Otherwise I'm super happy with the scope and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Good
Accurate and strong red dot. The only problem is that you have to push a button to turn it on

Do not buy, product is junk! Glass broke whole sighting in
Installed on my Glock 22 Gen 3, locked down everything. Went to the range to sight in on target, 3rd magazine in, glass broke on both sides. While firing weapon, screws came loose and whole sight started shifting form left to right, would not stay on target. This sight is crap, DO BOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I’m back to factory sights
