??? Guava Lotus (or) BabyBjorn Light+ ???
??? Guava Lotus (or) BabyBjorn Light+ ???Answer:We got the BabyBjorn, but inmy opinion, it boils down to 3 factors/differences between the two:1.) How much do you hate checking-in luggage versus carry-on luggage on an airplane?2.) Do you really need the side zipper access on the Guava? (E.g. some shorter ladies might need the side access)3.) How much do you care about the mattress being soft?1.) if you truly do hate checking-in luggage, then just get the Guava. Because the BabyBjorn doesn’t qualify as a carry-on on the airplane. To be clear, both products are well designed for travel (I.e. assemble/disassemble easily, carry bags are good, etc). But only the Guava is small enough to be carried on. Plus, it has some cool backpack straps, but that’s not a huge gain in my book.2.) if you really need the side zipper access, then go with Guava. The side zipper was a cool feature, and honestly, it was not as loud as some of the reviews made it sound to be. Both my wife and I are tall enough where when we bend over, it’s not a huge pain. But I could see how someone who is shorter or for whatever reason just has an easier time with the side zipper.3.) if you value the mattress being softer and more comfortable, then get the BabyBjorn. The Guava mattress feels kind of cheap and thin. Most every other factor in my opinion is close enough where it doesn’t matter between the two. The decision will boil down to these 3 noticeable differences.Personally, we ended up going with the Baby Bjorn. The reasons are as follows:1.) regarding the carry-on ability, although we sometimes do travel by plane, we end up checking-in some luggage anyway. So the carry-on ability of the guava doesn’t even matter. Plus, my carry-on is usually my own backpack anyway. Also, if we are traveling, but just by car for example, this feature is moot.2.) regarding the side zipper, it is a cool feature, but not necessary for our size as parents. So this for us became a feature that we didn’t need and didn’t have a strong desire for.3.) regarding the mattress, the BabyBjorn is noticeably more soft in terms of the mattress. The Guava felt cheap to be honest. We felt like the extra comfort would be worth it, especially if that helped our baby sleep better at night. What’s the point if you can carry-on the travel crib if the baby doesn’t like sleeping in it.4.) my wife also preferred the aesthetic appearance of the BabyBjorn over the Guava. So that made the decision easier.Anyway, we were really torn between the two for a long time until we bought both and tested them out. That’s what we found out. Hope this helps other people.

Comfortable and easy set up
Pros: 30 seconds to set up and take down. Mattress is comfortable. We have a belly sleeper 8 month old so the mesh sides have me peace of mind when she rolled her face into the side. Carrying case is easy to travel with and big enough to get it re-packed easily. Sturdy- our baby stood up and pulled on the edges it still held up really well.Cons: mattress isn't breathable. Our girl is 8 months so I know she can turn her head but for a younger baby I might worry if they sleep face down.We used this with the portable hatch machine. I love how small it is because it's easy to travel with and fits in a small hotel bathroom. We put her in the bathroom to sleep because there's no windows so it's blacked out, with our monitor on the bathroom counter. Worked great, we usually use the newton mattress at home. She slept from 8pm-6am with one minor wake up at 3am. Just like at home!

A lightweight - in the best possible way.
This is the one you want. Why? Because it is light. It is super light. It is a feather compared to a regular pack and never play because daddy's back hurts. You may be asking: "So what? A regular travel bed weighs a little more? I can handle it. It’s only fifteen more pounds." So what? SO WHAT!? Sweet summer child. You know nothing. I will tell you “so what.”You're traveling with your wife and two kids. To visit your parents. In February. In the great white frozen forsaken wasteland where there are only three seasons: "spring", "winter", and "I can't feel my face". You arrive after a grueling 15-hour drive, made through the night so the little ones won't scream more than half the time. And even though it's too cold to be snowing, it somehow still is. The wind whips through your poorly chosen outfit and reminds you why you left this northern hellscape. Each of you grabs one of the children and wraps them inside your clothing to keep them from freezing solid on the trek from the driveway into the house. You lose sight of the house once or twice in the blinding snow squall, but your resolve is strong: we must save the children. Once inside, you breathe a sigh of relief as feeling returns to your extremities. But the delight of the warmth is short-lived and soon gives way to the realization that you still need to unpack the car. Where will the children sleep? What will we wear? How will we brush our teeth?Gathering every ounce of energy remaining in your shell-shocked body, withered and worn down from the early years of child rearing, you kiss your family goodbye and venture back toward your Volvo stationwagon. You only need the bare essentials: your bag, her two suitcases, her handbag, her other handbag she calls a purse, the children’s bag, the baby gate, and a single travel bed for your youngest. You grit your teeth with each added weight. Your arms and back burn as the load increases. You miraculously balance the cargo and begin the journey. Your arms sag and your fingers begin to loosen as the cold takes its toll on your muscles. The carry straps on travel bed feel like overloaded plastic grocery bags, desperate for amputation. Your pace slows. You press on. Tears freeze on your face. Every breath feels tiny daggers. You stop. You can’t make it. You place the travel bed on the ground. You will need to come back for it.As you arrive at the door, your wife quickly realizes something is missing. Where is the bed? She sees the defeat in your eyes. Slowly, she lowers her head, unwilling to maintain eye contact. Your parents watch from the top of the stairs, mouths gaping in horror, shielding the eyes of your children. You have brought shame upon the family name. And it is in this very moment, in the deepest, darkest moment of your life, that you will understand the depth of your ignorance as the memory of your two most arrogant words returns to haunt you for eternity..."so what?"

Just what I had hoped
Based on reviews I purchased this for grandchild visits. I wanted a portable option with a little more padding than some I had considered. This is perfect. Has streamlined modern look - and unpacks in a flash.
