What am i doing wrong? this press does not make a dent in my cardstock. my bolts are tight. it is adjusted perfectly for my die size. help!

It may be that the springs aren't tight enough( the springs need to be preloaded) to ensure the pressing pressure doesn't collapse the spring so it can make the cut. Othe wise the springs won't allow the plate to go deep enough to make the cut.

Can this machine can be used with thin metal dies for paper crafting and cardstock paper? i want to replace my gemini jr. die cutter machine. thanks

I would think so, I use it for cutting paper, plastic film, leather and fabric.

Does the bottom plate that you cut on get worn down and can you buy replacements?

If you are referring to the white poly board, it will take a long time before you need to replace it (2+yrs) & you can buy a replacement board anywhere. These are great machines, however, your bigger concern should be replacing the bearings on the pull arm, mine broke in less than a year & still waiting for the replacement parts (2 months now) poor quality bearings & even poorer quality customer service
