I am fairly sure that the bracket that attaches to the saddle is a metal alloy and the section that you twist and clip the Varia into is a hardened plastic similar to the 3 clamps that Garmin supply

I don’t think think this is compatible with any saddle bag as basically both items are meant to fit in the same position.
