Katie and the Mona Lisa

How to introduce classic art to children.
The Katie series by James Mayhew is a wonderful introduction to the art world for children. My grandson aged 8, came home from school one day and asked to go to the National Gallery! When I asked him why, he explained he wanted to see Whistlejacket by Stubbs and some other paintings by Turner, Constable and Gainsborough, that he had read about. This enthusiasm was thrilling to see, only equaled by our day out in London to the National Gallery to find the paintings he had read about. I have since bought the whole series for him and Katie and Mona Lisa was another brilliant read.

Excellent introduction to the famous painting
Bought this in preparation for our toddler’s first trip to Paris as we planned to bring her to the Lourve. She loves the story and made her excited to see the famous smile of Mona Lisa.
