PYLE-PRO 300W 8'' Two-Way Speaker Cabinet - 8'' Subwoofer 1.5'' Kapton VC, Dual Speakon & Dual 1/4'' Jacks, 150 Watts RMS Power Handling & 3'' x 7'' Super Horn Midrange/Tweeter - PADH879

I purchased 4 of these through amazon. Apparently amazon fulfilled my order through different sellers. For this reason, only one of my speakers looks like the one pictured, despite all four speakers having the same model number. The other three speakers have an older visual design previously used by Pyle, which uses different brand logos. The three older speakers say "Pyle" on the bottom corner, rather than "Pyle Pro". In addition, the dust caps do not have the same logo pictured. Rather in says "Pyle" in bold white letters, rather than the letter "P" surrounded by the white and yellow artwork as pictured. Due to this, I my speakers are visually mismatched. Besides the different appearance, everything else is literally identical. The box, horn, and speakers are the same, aside from a different logo being painted on the main woofer. The specifications, weight, and sound are identical. For the application that I am using these for, the different appearance is not a concern of mine.Concerning damage, as mentioned by others, I did have to fix three of the four speakers. With two of the speakers, the woofers had completely been ripped out of the wooden box. For this reason, I had to remove the grills, turn the speakers a half turn or so, and screw them back into new holes because the existing holes would not hold a screw. One speaker was partially ripped out of the box, which required the same repair. In addition two grills were dented, which I was able to re-shape with a needle nose pliers. One of the four speakers arrived in perfect condition.As for the sound, for the money these speakers sound as good and have as good of output as anything I have heard at this price-point. I use Peavey, Mackie, JBL, etc. and some lower end like this one depending on the use. These do not sound as good as my Peavey, Mackie, or JBL speakers. However, with the correct amplifier, they will sound very good and satisfy my somewhat fussy ears. With my experience with Pyle speakers, they will sound great if you find the perfect amplifier. If you don't have enough power, however, they will sound dark and hollow. Also, if they have too much power, they sound like they are screaming and hurt your ears. For these particular speakers, I matched them with and amplifier that is positioned on the lower end as well. I used a RadioShack model 32-2055. I put one set on the A speaker channels and one to the B speaker channels. For these speakers, I seem to have found the sweet spot.In closing, you may choose to become angry about the details of having to pull a few dents and screw a few screws when these speakers show up. However, you will have to pay more money to get as much output and as good of sound from any speaker at this price-point in nearly every case.

I received 4 of the Pyle-Pro PADH879 - 300 Watt 8" two way Speaker Cabinets. The packaging was so poor from the factory that 3 of the 4 speakers where unusable the grilles were cruched in form lack of padding in the boxes. one was so bad the speaker was hanging out of the housing. The other one wasn't worth keeping since I didn't have the complete set I needed. They turned out to be a complete waist of my time. Even after reading the shining reviews that are more than likely a bunch of bunk. After submiting a return for the 5 packages I recieved as per Amazon instuctions to pack them back into there original packages for return they only sent 2 UPS slips for 5 packages. So the packages were rejected by UPS so here I sit waiting for Amazon to get this right. I am not to often disappointed with items from amazon but this one has wiped out the good. I would not give this a star at all but it is all that they Have.

As stated in many of the other reviews the item arrived damaged. The 8 inch woofer was broken out of it's mount and hanging by the wires. I do not fault Gem products for this as it has to be a shipping or packaging issue. I noted that the corners on my box were all rounded out so I am sure some ham fisted idiots were dribbling it around the loading dock. I did make contact with Gem products and they did replace it and after some back and forth they credited my $32 return shipping so I give Gem credit for that and they sent me a pristine new speaker. They sound good. They are a great product to play it loud. Not audiophile by any means but for my use, general mayhem and such, they work great. Gem products did themselves a solid by working with me on the situation and I do respect their efforts.

These are just as advertised. I connected them to the Pyle 240 watt amp that I also got from Amazon. They sound ok connected to an Ensoniq MR Rack sound module. However, the bass isn't well developed in these 8" speaker cabs. If you need good bass, go for the 12" speakers. For general PA use these are fine. I'm using them in church to augment the sound of the organ with orchestral sounds from the Ensoniq sound module. For general PA use these are light weight and don't take up much space. A good value.

I ordered one of these and it arrived broken. There was something heavy clonking around inside. I didn't power it up or open the case and investigate I promptly opened a return with Amazon which they quickly approved.The second one I received works great. I use it on an HF receiver and listen to a lot of wide band AM both broadcast and ham radio and it sounds great! Much better than the internal speaker or the 3" external speaker I had been using. It doesn't take all that much to drive it either. My radio only has 2.5 watts peak output and I barely have to turn the knob to listen comfortably.

I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before ordering these speakers, the speakers sound good i do like the hook ups on the back. BUT ! as the other reviews said they are not package good or built well in reference to the speaker mounting, both of the speakers were broken out of the wood on the inside to use them i had to take the cover off rotate the speakers and remount them, that should not have to be done when you pay for something, if they would simple not make the speaker hole so big so the screws would catch more wood or put some packaging inside the grill just to keep them from falling out. But they do sound good.

Great set of speakers. Pyle is your choice to go. With Size and Weight it tops some others. Got a gig that you need some speakers this is your answer. Very Light Weight and easy on the back. Works really Great and also works good as the floor speaker if needed but if needing a floor speaker try pyle first because it's the best choice to go.
