Unbeatable quality for the price
My only complaint, and a small one at that, is the knife is very tight, but thats hardly a deal breaker. It is simple, sharp, and a very tight lock. Damn good knife

20 years ago I bought low end legit spyderco same price
As I said, the low end spyderco was never what you got for 200 dollars but it was a hell of a lot better than this for same price on Amazon. I think 11 yea s ago I also bought an actual spyderco for 43 dollars. I know inflation blah blah…. However this is at best half the knife that was. It doesn’t always lock unless I op n it 2 or 3 times. Good blade quality but the design is…Chinese

Excellent blade size and style.
Great little knife. I did have to buff down sharp edges. The steel version is stiff and a bit heavy. I do love how it slides in and out of the pocket due to its smooth design and thinness. Feels very solid.

Great budget daily carry
Overall I am quite impressed with the quality of Byrd knives. I own both the harrier 2 and Cara Cara and they have both held up quite well for daily use.

Solid, sharp, precise grip.
This is one of my favorite knives and I own several Benchmade flip knives 5x as expensive. That is just to say its a great value. The knife is elegant in its simplicity of function. It's a piece of steel, and looks like one, you pick it up and it has heft to it. It doesn't try to be super light / space graphite / Kevlar / Composite / blah blah BS. It's a medal tool and feels good in your hand like you can use it and not worry about it. The spring mechanism for the lock is powerful to the point where my son complained he couldn't unlock it. I like that, if you know how to open it with the underside of your thumb's first knuckleits easy and I know where the knife is because you have to push it to move it open. When it clicks as it locks it's a nice solid click and you know its not going to move anywhere on you. Being smooth steel you would think that it would be slippery but the grip is amazing. Maybe its just that the ergonomics fit me so well but regardless there is are rough grooves etched into the top and bottom of the first 1/4in of the blade which offer a great purchase for your thumb and pointer finger up high on the handle. This allows for amazing precision in manipulating the blade and use. When you use it its more like carving that cutting if that makes sense. I have had it for about 2 years and it is one of my sharper knives, for whatever reason sharping it seems easy or it gains a sharp edge with less work than most of my other knives.... I dunno, the clip is sturdy and secures the knife to whatever you clip it to well, I just really don't have anything bad to say about the knife and it makes me mad it's so good and cheap I feel like the more expensive knives I have don't deserve their high regard. LOL. I swear to God I don't work for Spyderco. I honestly just like it. If you want something lighter and more airy you probably will not like this knife, or if you are looking to just grab and stab something with a full grip you may not like it. But who cares its not too expensive try it anyway, tell me I'm wrong in my assessment.
