Unsurprisingly excellent
Flashlights are in principle, relatively simple products which have been around for over a century, and whose fundamental function has not changed. The flashlight market is full of no-name brands selling cheaply or poorly made e-waste. Of the surprisingly few well established brands with proven reputations, many choose to differentiate themselves by deliberately engineering unnecessary proprietary solutions which give consumers the worst of both worlds - high prices and low repairability.Sofirn provides no nonsense high performance flashlights which are well made and reasonably priced. To date, I’m yet to find a brand which ticks as many boxes, with few compromises. Their products occupy the sweet spot is just about every flashlight category and the SP36 is no exception.1. Power: as much brightness as anyone could need2. Size: the design is much more compact than expected and quite pocketable. It’s about as tall as an SP33, which in itself is one of the smallest 26650 flashlights.3. Versatility: the ramping mode makes for near infinite adjustment, allowing you to easily adjust brightness to preserve battery life or minimise disturbance. The power-bank functionality also adds to its usefulness.4. Repairability: easy disassembly and user replaceable parts. Relatively easy to modify. It is, however, quite heavy, due to the 3 x 18650 cells, and the standard price on Amazon is roughly double what it usually costs directly from their website (around £30 or less including delivery during promos). But in practical terms, it’s overkill.Whilst relatively compact, it’s still rather bulky and singularly large - unless extreme brightness is a necessity, it could be more convenient to carry 3 compact 1x18650 lights.

Lovely torch for torch enthusiasts! Not EDC
Awesome torch if you can get it on sale! Don't pay more than £40-£45 for this, it's roughly £40 on Sofirn direct. Great torch due to Anduril and the sheer power, all inside a brilliantly made soda can form factor. Once upon a time this was Sofirn's brightest torch running Anduril. This torch is wonderfully heavy, feels very sturdy indeed. I would say this is too heavy for casual use, definitely not an EDC flashlight. Fully waterproof and no issues at all with the USB-C charging port cover, it fits perfectly and snug. Big selling point is the fact this has reverse charging and can be used as a power bank in an emergency, with the use of a USB-C to USB-C cable you can charge a phone incredibly quickly.Interface wise... You get brilliant control over the torch and it's functions by using the Anduril UI, if you dare... Anduril is incredibly intimidating and confusing, it is certainly not for the feint hearted. Once you get the hang of it, Anduril can be wonderful, but you can dip in and out with ease! By pressing the button 10 times you can switch between complicated and easy modes. It is easy enough to avoid the complicated UI mode entirely, and use the torch in dummy mode, without missing out on the power it has to offer. Classic 1 click for on, 2 clicks for turbo as you would expect, etc.All in all this is a great little soda can flashlight with a lot of lumens! Not quite the 8000 advertised... But I'd say you get around 5000-5500 out of it on turbo mode, when it is fully charged.8/10, grab it if you can get it for £40 or less.

Solidly built and very, very bright!
I've had my Sofirn SP36 Pro 8000 Lumen flashlight for several weeks now and I am delighted with it. It is built solidly, has logical button navigation, holds onto its charge and just oozes quality. Some of the things I like in particular:USB - C charging means it uses the same lead as my phone. Micro USB is now old technology. The menu is navigated by an actual operating system. Not being just a bespoke menu designed by the manufacturer means you know it's going to be well thought out and comprehensive. You can even find out the battery voltage and the LED temperature via a series of flashes of the button illumination from a sequence of button pushes.I think there are two varieties of this light, according to colour temperature of the LEDs. Not sure they're both available in every market. Mine has the bluer LEDs and this gives me a piercing, crisp white light. I like that because, in small spaces, it feels like you're turning night into day.The light uses a standard size of Lithium batteries that are easily obtainable and user-replaceable. When you unscrew the barrel, it's then that you really see how well-crafted these flashlights are. They even supply spare O rings! The operating system let's you determine the cut-off temperature when the light gets hot (e.g. on maximum brightness). This means you can be very conservative for the sake of prolonging the life of the LEDs if you want.I highly recommend this flashlight and based on my experience of a smaller flashlight in the range, I would have no hesitation in buying this make again.

Super bright with fantastic battery life!
This flashlight is unbelievably powerful! It has a nice beam by night. The build quality is fantastic with a nice grippy feel. I was concerned about the size of the flashlight but it actually fits pretty well in my small hands.I really like the button, it is backlit and satisfyingly clicky. The battery life is outstanding! Especially if you consider how much power the flashlight is outputting. One of my favourite thing about this flashlight is the amount of modes. It can do anything from stepless dimming all the way to a mode that makes the flashlight flicker like a candle. The included manual is very clear and I learned to use all the modes without any issues. If you are looking for a very powerful flashlight with fantastic battery life, look no further.
