Buy it......just do it......
This tool is great for the garden, i grow a large variety of vegetables and with a lot of different methods from raised beds to permabeds, to 30 inch wide market garden beds to single grow and this thing always gets tossed into the bucket or on my belt loop anytime i go into the garden, if im harvesting, weeding, going out for a quick morning water, this goes with me.I see a weed...i snag er right up, this thing is supirior for them darn dandilion roots, i sharpend mine up a little more and i can scrape with the side of it and nip off anything else at the surface like a standard hoe.I also use it to do quick trenches for planting things like radishes, chard and onions. the width of the heads a bit small for transplanting anything however unless its only a inch or so wide and not to deep.I wish i wasent so poor id buy the long version aswell and save my back, but this things great and i prefer its niche use over something like a hori hori. dont get me wrong love those too but i typically need a small tool for quick weed jobs, otherwise im bringing out the big tools anyway.

Essential weeding tool
This thing is awesome. Have upright weeded for dandelions in yard but this helps with stuck ones or ones on the edges. It also fun to use. I saw maker made original with hammer handle and it swings nicely to get under weeds. Also use it to get under weed trees. Been using to get weeds out of walkway cracks too. This is now an essential weeding tool. I have some back issues and doesn’t require as much bending over to get out weeds. Also hook design helps pick up other tools like bucket handle or stand weeded if left on the ground.

Exploits the physiology of weeds
This tool is the closest thing to make weeding fun. Why does it work so well? What makes a weed a weed? It's because of a root system that is larger than most plants, that is why it is so invasive. It hogs the ground. This tool makes it easy to snag the root system of a plant and pull it out of the ground. Fortunately it is well made. It is so effective, I often use it to tackle much larger jobs such as removing small tree roots and clumps of guinea grass around 10" in diameter. For the latter, I work the tool head around the periphery of the root clump, breaking roots inward, until I can use the tool as a pry bar to pull the root clump out of the ground. Here are the pros and cons of this tool:Pros:1. A simple design, which is the most effective for weeding. I tried conventional weeding tools, but this is my go-to tool.2. Forged tool head is strong. I work in soil with a lot of rocks and the steel is high quality and the spade head resists chipping and marring when I accidentally hit rocks. I also have not broken the shaft when tacking larger jobs although I can feel it bend. The super sharp, high carbon steel Japanese imports also work well, but they are designed for the perfect soils in Japan: rich and loamy, with nary a rock or stone in it. Using those finesse tools in the soil I have will chip and dull the tools in no time.Cons:1. Using this tool is really hard on the back. For most effective use you have to bend your back at a 90 degree angle to your legs to allow you to hook and pull up weeds as you move around the yard. After 45' of weeding, my back is killing me! They do make a long handle version so you can stand upright but I prefer to get closer in for more control while weeding.2. The manufacturer really should make a larger version 2x the size of this tool. There is a long handle version but guess what? It uses the same size head as the single hand tool. A larger tool head would make it much easier when users inevitably tackle larger jobs due to the effectiveness of this tool.3. The manufacturer seems unaware of something known in the metalworking industry as 'threadlockers'. To prevent the set screw on the long handle version from working loose frequently you can use a medium threadlocker such as LocTite Blue. It is used in the automotive industry to prevent nuts and bolts from loosening due to vibration. If you do need to break it loose for repair, it can be done with some effort, but nothing unmanageable (don't use LocTite Red, as that requires heating the part to 200 degrees F to loosen).4. The tool is a bit pricey (but worth the price).Update: I am glad Cobrahead uses good steel in this tool, because I don't know how many times I've hit rocks in the soil when using it. I also had to pry out fiddleback fern growing between stones in a stone wall (to transfer to soil). I hit the stones so hard trying to get under the roots, that I saw sparks on several occasions. Despite all this, the tool head still holds it's edge well.

Glad I bought it
Used it for the first time today, tackling the early spring grass and weeds popping up in the bed. This tool was more effective than any others I've used: it ripped up everything in its path so all I had to do was grab a handful of the weeds to shake off the dirt and then toss them. Some larger clumps of grass took 2 or 3 passes. I'm very satisfied with it. It isn't "sharp" though, just pointy, although the head comes with a plastic cover for protection. I've seen nearly identical tools on amazon for cheaper, but it was worth it to me to pay extra for USA-manufacturing. (Not because that makes it necessarily better but to encourage more manufacturing in country rather than relying on imports.)

Highly recommended by gardener friends, AMAZING QUALITY
I watched how gardener friends used their cobra tools to go after weeds and get them at the root. One friend, a master gardener, had the long handled one well the other used the original. The longer I watched them use their tools overtime I decided it was time for me to invest so, initially I ordered this one.The more I thought about it the more I realized I could bundle all three off the cobra website and get a better deal. And then they didn’t charge tax. That is the only reason I returned this one.So now I have the long handled, the original and the mini. The quality is outstanding. I like purchases that last a lifetime. I also like purchases that I can pass down To my kids. That makes the investment so well worth it!If you garden at any level, and really like basics that don’t wear out but get the job done so well even beyond motorized, I do recommend these. Thanks to the cobra team who knew how to analyze a problem and design a winner!!

Great tool
This is a must have tool for me. I can dig out weeds with the roots even tough ones. It does not wear down so should last for years if not forever.
