Im looking for shells mostly 1/2 inch to not more than one inch - what would the approximate percentage be of those sizes be in the container ?

About 70% are between 1/2 inch and 1 inch

Are these shells dyed, or all natural?

Hard to tell for me , I would say natural, I have done MANY crafts with them, the color has not changed or faded, nor are there any lines that look dyed or painted.

Can they be hot glued to ribbon or wood make napkin rings?

Yes! They are very durable shells, I have already glued some to wood and fishing string!

How do you open this container? it won't screw open, pop off, thrres no seal. how do you open it without damaging the shells?
