Really useful for food dishes on the table.
Brilliant and useful. We love Chinese food and this keeps the dishes warm thoughout the meal.We plug it in on a kitchen unit, then when the meal arrives unplug it and move it to the table.Makes life really easy. Easy to clean as well, wait until it cools and wipe over.Wish Id' bought one years ago Good value and way better than those old fashioned candle things!

A good produce
My plate warmer of many years finally stopped working. This is an excellent replacement. Fits well on my worktop and is a good size. It heats up quite quickly and holds the heat well.

Impressive
This is a good looking, well built impressive piece of kit and would easily have got 5 stars(very rarely given by me),but for a simple design fault. We have this permantly sited on our dining room table. We find this the most effective way of using it.However it is designed to be used sited on a kitchen worktop,as the cable is only one metre long, thus requiring an extension lead. This is unsightly and not good practice.Otherwise it heats up extremely quickly and holds the heat for the duration of a meal. The stainless steel surface does get marked by the pans etc,but keep on top of it and it is easy to clean-like most stainless steel. If you are thinking of getting a hot plate, then put this at the top of your list.

Smart, efficient and oozes quality!
Works well - heats up quickly across a large part of the top surface and retains its heat for an hour or so. I thought the right-angled lead I had bought for an earlier hotplate would fit, allowing the unit to sit right at the back of the worktop and leave a workable space in front of it. However, this hotplate's socket has a bar in it, and the old plug wouldn't fit, and I began a long search for a right-angled plug with a 'notch', eventually discovering one sold by Kenable (kenable.co.uk). It's known as "Power Cord UK Plug to Right Angle C15 Hot IEC 3G" and the bar/notch (C15) identifies the junction as suitable for a hot environment (i.e. close to the hotplate!).This right-angled lead makes so much sense that the hotplate really should come with one!

good product
Heats up quickly. Does remain heated for approx an hour. Looks good on large table or counter top. May be slightly large for a small table depending what else you have on the table. Impressed

Fantastic Gift.
Great item, works as described and keeps food warm during diner without needing any wires across the table.Only complaint is it is just on or off, there is no temperature control. But that doesn't bother us.My Nan loves it and now uses it every time she cooks for company.

Just okay
It’s a good size, but the outer edges do not get warm at all, so you’re really only able to use 2/3 of the hot plate. About 10+ cms on either end stay cold. So instead of keeping 3 Christmas dishes warm this Yuletide, I’ll only be able to do 2. Pity.

Easy to use
As the instructions say, it heats up pretty quickly - around 5 minutes and retains its heat for at least the hour promised. I would say that as the edges don't heat up, you are relying on less than 100% of the surface area for heat, but that said, I placed all the dishes I wanted on the hotplate and they stayed warm for first and second helpings. I think it's a good idea to warm any dishes you use if they are not coming out of the oven/microwave first, as this avoids putting a cold dish on the hot plate. The item is attractive to look at, easy to clean (so far) and fits comfortably on the worktop.
