Choose USB port wisely
I hooked this up and it failed. All I got was a constant re boot. The power was not sufficient to power the firestick. But . . . I also had bought a bracket to mount the sound bar directly the TV. That required taking down the TV and removing the mounting hardware from the TV. With much better access, I discovered a second USB port. After putting it all back together I tried the newly discovered USB port, and it now works.Lesson learned, or rather reinforced. Not all USB ports are equal. An explanation in the description would be a big help for all us non- techies.

Failure
Plugged the cable into the TV and into the Firestick and sure enough it started up fine. Then the Firestick started to update and an error came on the screen that the Firestick isn't getting enough power. It went into a reboot loop. I plugged the firestick into an outlet and it works perfectly fine. This cable was a waste of time and money.

Power cord saver
Much better then having wires all plugged into wall.

Fire Stick is a winner
The bomb! Works fantastic. No problems at all. I haven't trained Alexa on it yet, but now that I have the Hopper, I don't really use the Amazon stick much because I have the Netflix app through my cable. Although, I often experience problems with movies freezing when watching them through the TV app. Don't know why that is. When I get irritated enough by it, I unplug the cable and use the Fire Stick. Never had that problem of movies freezing with the Fire stick. It's such a pain when it happens. You have to close out of the app entirely, reload it, then restart the movie all over again and wait until it catches up with where you left. But anyway, the Fire Stick is good, no problems.

Many TV USB Ports Do Not Provide Enough Power
Main question lingering on everyone's mind: Yes, this is a Micro USB cord. Yes, you're paying a premium to have it shorterWhy did I get it? I didn't realize thats all it was until I took it out of the packaging. Then I realized I had more than 5 of then lying around at different lengths. With that out of the way, many will be hard pressed to find out that their TV does not output enough current to properly power the Fire Stick. From what I have read, this is mainly important when updating the stick. The stick itself still ran for me but I was notified by an onscreen notification that there was not enough current to power the stick and to discontinue using it and use the included power brick. Some TVs will have enough current but based on many comments I see here, its not worth the price. If organization is important and money isn't a concern, I'd advise to try a micro USB you have laying around first and see if you get the notification prior to purchasing. This will save you the headache of having to return it and also save your carbon footprint.
