Great for practice
This isn't a sax! It's an electronic attempt to create one - which is does quite well. But I wouldn't want to perform with it - I'd much rather use the real thing. But it allows private practice and syncs up to my iPhone easily allowing me to play along to practice tracks to learn and improve fingering and scales. The "reed" has a bit of a poor feel to it and the tonging is different to the real thing. It does give access to all sorts of different sounds (most of which are good) which might have some limited advantage on stage but usually you'd just leave that to a keyboard player who can do polyphonic. The actual sax sounds are adequate but they don't have quite the right feel. It's actually a better sound on clarinet. Access to higher and lower registers than the real instrument is interesting although I miss the bottom A key (as a baritone player). Easily sorted but got to remember to play middle A with down octave.

really good
i got the newer ae20 with the whisper quiet keys... big improvement on the older clunky keys. the sounds are really good, and it plays really well, have been use to using an akai ewi for the last 8 or so years. this is much more like a saxophone to play... this is the best wind instrument i have ever used.. i can recommend this, and its silent thought the headphones so great for night practice when you have neighbours and cant play a real sax.

An Amazing Instrument
For over ten years I have been meaning to pick up the sax and pick up where I left off. With this fantastic instrument I can practice and play to my hearts content without disturbing anybody. What's more is that its not just saxes that I have to play with but just about every instrument imaginable. Worth every penny!!!!
