Smaller Than Image Appears, Yet a Great product
The Shofar is an instrument we use in Biblical celebrations. Thus we needed something of a regal and sleek appearance. This item looks very much like the photo, just smaller than anticipated. It is a good size considering the price and the cost of larger rams horns. The p polish and sanding is great. It does indeed smell a bit gamey. For the most part it is stored in its accompanying menorah embroided pouch..so it is not currently an issue. The pouch is of good quality. I absolutely recommend this product. It takes practice to play. This size is great for beginners.

The ram's horn shofar is very nice.
The ram's horn shofar is very nice. It is made of very good quality craftsmanship. It looks like the one in the picture, and it does not have a bad scent even though it is made from a real genuine ram's horn. I also really liked the carrying bag. The shofar works well, and the instructions were helpful. I am very pleased with this purchase. In addition, it arrived earlier than expected. Thank you.

Buy this.
This thing man. It’s like a man with no nose, it don’t smell at all. It sounds great when played by someone who knows what they’re doing, like chef Gordon Ramsey around a steak knife. Comes with instructions, wish my wife did too, just kidding honey. Yeah right, As if she goes on amazon, She’s forbidden! I don’t need debt, if I wanted that I’d have more kids. But seriously, this was a Christmas gift and the recipient was blown away. if you know someone who appreciates stuff related to the Bible, get this.

Beautiful shofar
Our shofar is beautiful, and I have a great appreciation for the literature they include and the bag to protect the shofar.

Definitely NOT odorless!
This shofar is super smelly! It’s a nice size and sturdy and polished well. It’s pretty and sounds great, it just smells very bad and makes me feel like I’m getting the stink in my mouth after blowing it.

A bit of difficulty blowing it.
I have blown wind instruments ranging from sax, clarinet, Irish whistles and cow horns, but when I tried this shofar there was no real voice. Upon examining the air passage I found that the drilled airway had not been smoothed sufficiently. I used a small flexible artist brush handle to smooth out the hole. It now has the volume and pitch that one would expect from a pocket size shofar. There are made by an old and reputable shofar maker in Israel that turns out world class instruments. I would buy from them again.

The only shofar without the Star of Remphan!
After much searching, I got this in preparation for the Fall Feasts. It had no smell until I tried to blow it. It smelled like very old meat (remember this comes off of an actual animal). I soaked it in a bath of vinegar, baking soda, some dishwashing liquid and hot water until it bubbled for a hour. The smell went away about 80% and also helped removed the sticker. The smell is like gamey jerky now, which I can handle. It comes with a velvet bag and instructions. I have not been able to make a sound yet but I will try again once the inside dries. Finally, this is the only shofar I've found without the Star of Remphan aka the star of david on it or on the packaging.Brothers and sisters, please do your research into what that star is (the star of david is mentioned nowhere in the bible as a good thing!) and keep that symbol out of your home!

Really Great Experience!
The Shofar I received was as advertised. Shofar, velvetine bag and book/pamphlet arrived CRAZY fast!!!! I ordered it on a Wednesday and expected it the usual weeks wait but received it three days later and was able to use it to call the neighborhood to service!!!The Shofar was polished, cleaned and did not reek like I expected due to (exaggerated?) multiple reviews read regarding Shofars. The mouthpiece was crafted and I was able to play it much like a bugle player. The only time I noticed a slight odor was after it had gotten moist from practicing a while.Money well spent, I’m very happy! Thank you!
