I don't know anything about pickling or preserving but this is a very. very nice looking jar and it has a fantastic seal that would be perfect for those things. The clip is very sturdy, the jar itself too. It's a quality item for a bargain price.I actually bought this entirely by mistake. I meant to get the smallest one and ended up buying the 0.5 litre one. Even had I got the one I thought I was buying it wasn't what I wanted but I was desperate to fill my £20 requirement for free delivery and I had been looking for hours. So my brain failed to read all the details.None of that is the fault of the seller- nor is a fault with the jar- so I have given it 5 stars. Had I meant to buy a jar of this kind and size I would be very, very happy with it so I can't see how I can down-rate it over my stupidity.I will use it, and may even buy more because for what it is I think the price is a bargain. And it's a jar; I can find many uses for it.

The base broke off the first time I tried to sterilise it with boiling water. For a product meant to be used for preserves this is completely useless.Update: Great sevrice from amazon as usual. I have been shipped a new jar the day after the previous review. Very happy, but careful with hot water now.

Good size jar and good quality very well priced for what you get.

I love this jar, i use it to store my overnight oats. It has a secure open and close mechanism, and it looks very cute. I was surprised as the jar was a lot bigger than i thought, also It can be slightly fiddly when cleaning as you have to remove the rubber ring on the lid- but apart from that it is a lovely glass container.
